I remember Bobby Czyz claiming that Evander Holyfield's gloves were smeared with a foreign substance when they met many moons ago in a fight that stretched tolerance to its very limit. Czyz quit on his stool after five empty rounds.

Wilder blaming Anthony Dirrell now.
Apparently because Dirrell is trained by SugarHill, he screamed at Breland to throw in the towel.

I thought it was the boots he was wearing and the lack of strapping on his ankle. He did fall awkwardly and in the rematch his ankle was strapped.

I know foreman said after the Ali defeat that he found any excuse he could including his boots being too tight.
I watched the ali foreman fight and gotta say I kind of agree a bit with the loose ropes excuse.

Also did Robin Reid really say that? 😂🤣🤣
Yeah he did in his drab, close win vs Hasine Cherifi....... and worse of all, Warren when interviewed supported it! Saying things like "I've seen Robin in training this week and he is clearly shaken up by Diana's death". It took place on the 11th September, Diana died on 31st August. I wonder if he was still in mourning in the Malinga loss the following December.

Credit where it’s due, Reggie Prograis said “no excuses” after his loss to Taylor and then didn’t even come out with any excuses. When he really could’ve said something about one of the cards.

To be fair Bobby was taking some hefty shots in there

Won't be long before he gets into a mandatory position. He can show us in the ring.

That’s all he needs to focus on, fighting his way back to a title.

I still see him as #3. The Taylor fight was very close, and out of Reggie and Josh, I think Reggie can make the better adjustments if a rematch happens.

You could be right, I had it closer than most of my pals. I think Taylor won and would again though Regis is an excellent fighter.

"It's my little way of saying thanks. I do not like to make excuses, I did train very, very hard.

"When you get it in your mind that the princess of your country has died you're going to feel emotion.

"It was one of my ambitions to meet her. I boxed for England, in the Olympics, and won a world title but my biggest regret, corny as it may sound, is the fact that I never got to meet Princess Diana."

Enlighten me..... What exactly were the 3 excuses he made during the brief interview inside the ring, directly after the fight?
Did you even watch the post fight interview?

Straight away he said he had a lot of complications coming in, and that his legs were poor before the fight, and also blames his corner and now he's blaming his ringwalk outfit LOL

Dude, he just said "No excuses" two times in the brief interview. Saying you want to "go out on your shield" is NOT an excuse. That is a declaration of wanting to fight on, no matter what!

Now, after the fact, Deontay can start to evaluate what he needs to do next time, in order to get a different outcome of the fight. But EVERY fighter has to figure out "what" kept them from being victorious in a fight. Every fighter has to do that, in order to become a better fighter. It's not making excuse, its just saying what they would do differently come next fight.

"I make no excuses" is exactly that.... No excuses.

Agreed.

Wilder can only have so many excuses though. He's not exactly the second coming of SRL. He's got very limited boxing ability so he has to have physical excuses. He can't say he should have jabbed more or hooked off his jab, thrown more body shots, got inside etc etc.

🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂 PLEASE LET IT BE TRUE!
Just google Robin Reid Princess Diana - I also have it on DVD. The paper reports (from the tinternet) don't highlight that Warren supported this excuse, he definately did.

Given what Robin Reid was also apparently famous for, not really surprised he wanted to meet her!

George Foreman had a few to explain the Ali defeat:-

Ropes too loose
Succubus
Drugged
Shoes were too big ( although I think that was a joke)

Yep and it took 15 years, an intervention from God, grilling machines and a war with Holyfield to realise he only had himself to blame
