Fury v Wilder 3 - July 18th 2020
Fury v Wilder 3 - July 18th 2020
MGM Grand Las Vegas.
Looks like the date has been announced but do you think the fight will take place? Will Fury pay off Wilder?

I'm not sure Wilder can be paid off for this one,it's very likely he would be shut out of the title scene for a long time if he doesn't take this fight,if Fury doesn't take it serious then that could certainly work in Wilder's favour and maybe that's what Wilder is hoping for.

Seems so pointless !
Now if it was Fury v Whyte at the London O2 or Manchester Arena that would excite. Maybe even Wilder on the undercard.

As someone said (think it was Barry Jones on Sky - which was weird in its own right) - When Fury has won between 12-14 rounds the 17 rounds they've fought - it is the most pointless rematch of all time. Would much rather see Ortiz vs Wilder 3.

I don't think Wilder can beat Fury. Wilder is simply not good enough to out whit Fury.

A cash grab by all involved.
Re: Fury v Wilder 3 - July 18th 2020
Can't blame wilder thou. Probably need to pay him 10 million sidestep money and that isn't going to happen unless saudi pay him off.
Re: Fury v Wilder 3 - July 18th 2020
Wilder doesn't seem the sort that can be paid off, judging by his approach to the failed Joshua fight
Re: Fury v Wilder 3 - July 18th 2020
Aye i read a thing earlier about Floyd offering to train Wilder for the rematch.... Prick

One good thing is that’s it not an eternity to wait las is usually the case- won’t be suprised if that date ends up being cancelled though

Couldn't write him off i suppose. What you think?
Re: Fury v Wilder 3 - July 18th 2020
I just hope Fury is not unmotivated for this, having just put in a near career best performance. Hopefully, knowing when he agreed to the rematch he would have to have a 3rd fight means his mind is in the right place.

Are we thinking he'll just adopt the same tactics as last time or box more cautiously this time? I expect there no reason to change anything but it's hard to see Wilder being as utterly useless as he was last time and he still has that punch.

Wilder has already made excuses that it wasn't 'him' in there and has said that he doesn't try to change his style. He has shown very little evolution or tactical change as a fighter, and the whole idea that losing every round to Ortiz in the rematch was improvement was laughable and just people trying to be smart. He'll be the same fighter, but he does have the pop and is still with a puncher's chance. That said, I think Fury found a really effective approach and one that works better than trying to box and move him.

I'd still pick the fight 50/50. You can laugh all you want, but you should remember.... Last time Fury won a title, what happened!? He ballooned to upwards of 420 lbs!!!
I'm not saying Fury will do this again, I think he learned his lesson and has a better head on his shoulders this time around. But I still see Fury taking a bit of a nice relaxation after this last fight. And now that he won this last fight against Wilder by adding extra weight, who's gonna tell him to stay at 263 LBS!? So, I'd predict Fury coming into this 3rd fight at around the 265-275 LBS range.
As for Wilder, he better work on his jab, and work on moving around the ring a bit more. But Wilder really needs to focus on coming towards Fury in the 3rd fight. Make Fury do the backing up. And Wilder should not wait for one big punch. He needs to stay busy during the fight, and throw a bounty of punches Fury's way.
I say Wilder's extra HUNGER for a victory and redemption, coupled with Fury becoming a bit more SOFT between fights, adds up to Wilder making this one heck of a fight this 3rd time around!
All in all, I have come to like both Wilder and Fury very much. I don't really care much who wins. They have both brought lots of excitement to the heavyweight division. They make me miss the 90's era of heavyweight a little bit less. But Damn were those 90's an awesome era for heavyweights!!!
