Like all 99% of the belts out there you’re doing it too much credit even bothering trying to understand what the rule book qualification for it is.

It’s a belt given to a fighter who is a big draw above and beyond any baubles he could hold which means he can fight any old putz he likes while the governing body can continue to collect sanctioning fees on the main belt elsewhere. Trying to understand it beyond that is missing the reason it’s there

Is it like McDonald's? Anyone can start their own WBC Franchise. So you can have 7 WBC Franchise Belts in Oxford Street only... that type of thing

Surely I'm not the only one who has casual fans asking me who the WBC Franchise Heavyweight Champion is?

It's a belt created by the WBC to keep Canelo in their crooked org, a belt exempt from mandatories so Canelo can fight who he wants and even if he loses he keeps the belt and the WBC keep their grubby mitts in the pot

If Joshua/Fury unify for an undisputed then I would love it Kevin Keegan style if they fvck every belt in the bin and just defend the Ring

It entitles the holder to open a Nando's with a WBC belt over the door
