Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
Is it really happening where people are panic buying? Didn't even happen here and thousands have died.
I would stock up on Fray Bentos pies, Wagon Wheels and club biscuits, Yorkshire teabags and one or two other things... bog roll? I would just buy a dozen copies of the Daily Mail and the Daily Express and use them instead...
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
Said in the paper that Lee McGregor will be defending British and Commonwealth titles on the undercard. No mention of an opponent. Anyone any ideas? Butler or Selby would be a good test.

Aye mate the shelfs are bare everywhere. Mrs was in Tesco earlier and she said they hardly had anything she wanted. Stores were limiting folk to 2 bottles of hand wash per personCarlos wrote: ↑07 Mar 2020, 10:04Is it really happening where people are panic buying? Didn't even happen here and thousands have died.

Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
Met Limond a few times. Sound guy. He had Khan all over the place. Was a long count wasn't it?
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020

James English podcasts are pretty decent. Some good guests
He was supposed to have Harrison on but nothing yet. That would be good to see.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
Khongsong is an enigma, as for many thai fighters. He also has a specular height and record. Josh will prevail but i sense something.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
From what Josh is saying, he isn't overlooking Khongsong.
It is interesting when a known entity faces a dark horse. Also the change in trainer for Josh. Both things make what on paper is a low level mandatory, a little more watchable. Hopefully Taylor will get er done and keep chasing Ramirez

£340 for floor seats.
£34 for nosebleeders..
Does Taylor usually sell out in Scotland?
The Hydro holds 14,300, but the highest tier isn't open, so i'm guessing maybe less than 10k tickets to be on sale.

They usually 'curtain off' the vast majority of the arena. I suspect they'll be around 2,000 tickets on sale, and it will not be a sell out.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
2000 would be exceptionally poor IMO. Any idea what the last WBSS did? I know they had Inoue on the bill as well but I recall a really decent atmosphere on TV
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
I believe it might be Iain Butcher mate. Marc Leach also meant to be a possibility if he beats Ashley Lane

I’d have said 5000ish - Inoue brought a lot out just for chance to see him and it was 2 undefeated fighters in both main events.
Taylor isn’t popular - he’s from Edinburgh fighting in Glasgow.
Supports Hibs - he abuses Hearts fans constantly.
Has abused Rangers on Twitter several times - so he’s lost a lot of people who would go along because he can’t shut his mouth. You can’t do Blue/Green/Prod/Catholic in Scotland or you’ll lose the half you offend which he’s done.
He’s not like Burns - he drew a crowd from all walks of life - didn’t get Involved in all that shite and got 10000 plus several times with everyone backing him.
Re: Josh Taylor vs. Apinun Khongsong - 2 May 2020
He’ll get a lot more than 2000. I’m a Jambo and plenty of my mates are going as well as myself. Lee McGregors a Jambo an all and he draws well.3132DW wrote: ↑11 Mar 2020, 16:37I’d have said 5000ish - Inoue brought a lot out just for chance to see him and it was 2 undefeated fighters in both main events.

Yeah it’ll be more than 2,000 as a lot of the fighters locally will sell few hundred each. Mind you £340 ringside is very steep.fizzjambo wrote: ↑11 Mar 2020, 16:45He’ll get a lot more than 2000.
