Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin - 2 May 2020
Whyte is good enough to pound out a tough decision. And tough enough to grit out the win when he gets hurt. Which he probably will. As his offensive skills have improved, he’s giving opponents good punching opportunities. I see an exciting fight. Hope he continues to double up that left hook.
I do like how his boxing has improved when motivated. He can navigate those 12 rounds pretty well.

Thing is I’ve got absolutely nothing against women’s boxing from a moral standpoint - power to them. But generally the bouts are very one sided (I don’t think this will be to be fair) and dull as dishwater. For it to be part of a PPV is a joke. It’s a Sky/Matchroom fantasy narrative that Katie Taylor is this massive attraction.

This is a huge fight for Women's boxing. Two of the p4p best. Deserves to be part of a PPV in my opinion. Martin v Washington was the co-main of the Fury v Wilder 2 card by comparison...fizzjambo wrote: ↑07 Mar 2020, 11:39Thing is I’ve got absolutely nothing against women’s boxing from a moral standpoint - power to them. Whyte vs. Povetkin is not. It should be more like a AJ PPV undercard.
But now obviously, Whyte is a huge UK PPV attraction.

There will also be other decent fights. Hearn knows Whyte can only PPV with a decent card.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑07 Mar 2020, 11:52But Fury-Wilder was a PPV main event.

But the guy got flattened by Washington?
He did say before this bout though, he didn’t take that fight serious and got caught. His own fault really.

What odds are we going to get?
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin - 2 May 2020
Wasn’t that during a bad phase that Helenius has blamed on injuries?
And also, a bit of a non fight that made neither look good?
At one time Helenius looked the real thing, impressive stoppages of Lamon Brewster and Sam Peter. He had power and composure and was great to watch... His revival is an interesting one.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin - 2 May 2020
I was betting on Helenius revival after he crushed Teper. But he unfortunately failed vs Washington, whom I picked to be crushed by Helenius too. Anyway Helenius has just scored a big win, a truly big one. Hopefully he'll be more consistent now and make some other noise.Autobarn wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 11:40Wasn’t that during a bad phase that Helenius has blamed on injuries?

Chisora should fight Helenius. See if if he can beat him again.Autobarn wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 11:40Wasn’t that during a bad phase that Helenius has blamed on injuries?

It also a good matchup. The controversial nature of their first bout and their close to each other positions in the rankings are for this fight.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 12:53Chisora should fight Helenius. See if if he can beat him again.Autobarn wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 11:40

Yeah, a good achievement for both to be still around and KO other competitors.

Helenius was Chisora’s 15th pro bout I think.
Without checking, not sure what Chisora was for Helenius, but it kept him unbeaten.
Helenius also holds a satisfying victory over Erkan Teper.

He gets undue bad press for the Whyte performance. But he’s no mug.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 13:46Helenius was Chisora’s 15th pro bout I think.
