Tbh I think Charlo batters this kid, though fair enough with this win he's earned a fight with anyone in the division.
From a competitive standpoint I'd actually like to see him vs Castano

Williams's got two stupid defeats because of his weak chin I like him but he need to change something in his defense to better protect himself. Kudos to Rosario I didnt believe in him.

I think Williams is better when he consistently backs up an opponent and builds momentum. When he’s warmed up, and surging, and prepared for anything coming back - he can be amazing.
It could be that he’s a bit of a Terry Norris. Norris had the really good athletic skills and punch repertoire but he could fiold in half versus an irresistible force, as was the case with Julian Jackson and also Simon Brown when he was careless in their first fight.
Perhaps Charlo and Rosario are his Jackson and Brown. Williams is capable of brilliance as was the case versus Hurd. A shame this happened as you’d think he’d be available to potentially take on the best of 147 (moving up to face him), 154 which is full of dangerous fights, and - pushing it -160 if he picked the right fights.
One concern is the way Williams talks before fights. The bullying persona blew up in his face versus Charlo. Before Rosario he was talking about being the future p4p #1 and future great. You wonder where he is mentally, and can he be consistent.
Have to say, I struggled to reconcile the guy who backed up Hurd in a firefight with the guy who folded vs Charlo and who suffered a bad fade in a narrow escape vs Alcine. Why is he so up and down?

Before fighting Rosario he concerned me with a social media post saying, essentially, he’s not thehardest to hit, doesn’t have the best defense - but that he works the hardest.CiroDiMarzio wrote: ↑21 Jan 2020, 07:05 Williams's got two stupid defeats because of his weak chin I like him but he need to change something in his defense to better protect himself. Julian Williams not exercising rematch clause with Jeison Rosario, IBF mandatory could come due
Sources have informed ESPN that Julian Williams has not enforced his rematch clause with Jeison Rosario, who stopped him in five rounds for the IBF and WBA 154 pound titles on January 18. Sampson Lewkowicz, who promotes Rosario, says they are willing to face Williams later on in 2020, regardless. Anibal Miramontes, the rankings chairman for the IBF says that Rosario has a mandatory due versus top rated Bakhram Murtazaliev, but if a unification bout would take precedence, over that obligation.
