Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Going back a few years, I remember Tyson Fury and Lennox swapping insults on twitter, and Tyson claiming that he was better than Lennox ever was. Well, I actually think he would have beaten Lennox. Lewis struggled with the really tall guys and I think Fury would have been a nightmare for him. What are people's thoughts?

There's definitely a case to be made for both fighters Lennox could be a bit lazy , I think we need to see Tyson in a few more big fights before picking him over Lewis
Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Remember, Tyson looked freakin’ amazing and physically dominant in one fight. Can he remain focused or will he meltdown again?
Let’s see what he looks like in the next few fights. See if he can boss people other than those who are light in the ass (Cunningham, Wilder 2).
Also Fury doesn’t have many good names on his record, although Wlad & a Wilder rivalry are terrific and meaningful. But, the likes of Firtha, Pajcik, Wallin, Hammer don’t mean much next to the ones Lewis defended his crowns vs. Two wins over Chisora are good domestically and on the Euro scene - and it wasn’t Fury’s fault regarding the Haye fight (a great “what if”).
Definitely Lewis wouldn’t like the southpaw stance - there were probably only 2 southpaws in his era, Moorer & Byrd - but Fury doesn’t stay in southpaw. Nor would he like the pesky long punches (Vitali really aggravated him in their bloodbath fight).

Oh fornicate off
He done a good job against Deontay. People are losing their heads now.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Yeah, I remember that. At the time I thought he was just trying to get some attention and that was it. But now, I’m not sure what would happen. It’s an interesting one.
Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
allegedly was in the paper the day before the Wilder vs Fury fight, saying that Fury would be bigger than Lewis if he won.
Not sure I agree, but it was a big win for Fury and a dominate performance.
The same paper was making out that Wilder was comparable with Ali.

Lewis would've done something Wilder couldn't... throw heavy uppercuts on the inside. He was the best at that

Lewis handily, it would have been a good fight and an even better press conference but it would have gone five entertaining rounds with Fury getting busted up and visting the canvas a few times but still swinging away at the end.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Fury is a master of using his height and reach and awkward style to put fighters out of sync. He's also got a good defence, especially for such a big man, but like pretty most men of his size he isn't a fluid puncher. When you see him running he's like Jaws from James Bond, almost bordering on having gigantism. In this case Lewis isn't at much of a reach disadvantage but it just depends how long it takes him to solve the Fury conundrum, because when he does the fight would soon be over.
Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Lewis for me, Fury hasn't faced anyone close to how good Lewis was and before anyone says Wlad, no, just no. Lennox would have smashed Wlads lights out if George Clooney hadn't turned the arena lights out first.
Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
LL at his best wins by stoppage inside of 5. LL of Rahman I or vs Klitschko loses a wide decision to Fury.

Lewis KO 3.

Tyson Fury by points.
Lewis can win 1 out of 3 if he inflicts a cut or something.

You mean something like punching Fury in the face? Cuz he would knock him out if he did that.

Nah, I meant that something like Wallin did, Fury still won that fight despite that huge cut.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 22:18 You mean something like punching Fury in the face? Cuz he would knock him out if he did that.
He couldn't do the same against a champion like Lewis.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Lennox Lewis is very hard to think about in mythical matchups to me. Granted, he'd win most, AFAIT, but the thing is..his chin man..if he got ko'd by McCall and Rasham, and tagged by an over the hill Tyson, then guys like Joe Louis, Liston, Foreman, Shavers and yes Tyson Fury, would always have a chance.

Re: Tyson Fury vs Lennox Lewis: Who wins
Lewis's chin was as underrated as his jab was overrated.
The Rahman punch would have knocked almost everyone out, certainly Fury. (Though you can criticize his performance up until then and wonder how he could have got hit by such a punch) He did get up from the McCall shot.
Fury doesn't punch any where near the level of Louis, Foreman, Liston, and Shavers.

Ya, he got up from the McCall shot and then needed to molest the ref to stay up

Plus Lewis wasn't properly trained for Rasham..I'll give you that.Ambling Alp II wrote: ↑09 Mar 2020, 11:06 Lewis's chin was as underrated as his jab was overrated.

A bit off topic maybe, but I remember a lot being made by the press about how the referee stopped the fight with McCall and the ref was Mexican, the WBC was based in Mexico, Jose Sulaiman and Don King were friends and McCall was Don King's fighter..
