Apparently physical strength and punching power too are in no small part governed by the strength and thickness of the tendons, as they are essential for the integrity of the kinetic chain, and transfer of power.

There was a guy who held multiple worls recprds for feats of strength, who was only about 180 pounds, he held back two propeller planes by locking his arms together, was incredible. His tendons and ligaments were times the normal thickness
Who is this 180lb man James?
I don't know, I was trying to find a link, he was on one of those record breaker type programs years back, I'll see if I can find him.

Although he wouldn't have even come close to qualifying. He wouldn't even win an open local show.

He's got quite a few records
I'm pretty sure you would need seriously strong grip to hold back two fornicating aeroplanes. I'm not suggesting he's the world's strongest man, but that he had unusual strength in certain disciplines for a man his size.

He fought Vitali at the age of 28 in 2012. It was his 18th pro fight.

If the Usyk fight goes ahead, it will be his 42nd pro fight, now at the age of 36.

I hope AJ isn't stripped. If anything just make this for the Interim. They can even call it a final eliminator can't they? without introducing a new belt. Yet, who would have thought Chisora would get a world title opportunity BEFORE Whyte.

I don't see why they've always pushed Whyte towards the WBC. I know before it was so it would be AJ vs. Whyte for the unidsputed title.

The fight for 28th March has been called off, they will not fight until at very least May.

I would've wondered whether he was actually using the delays to inject some PEDs in his ass or something, but they are happening too often. Not a good sign obviously.

Only a peak Haye has gotten Chisora out early. Usyk has nowhere near the power of Haye.

Chisora is a threat to anyone, now that he's 100% dedicated, stronger and fitter than ever. After he fvcks up usyk, give him aj. Just the build up will be epic. My money on del.

In a very different way to Haye.

Anyhow my point remains. No way Usyk stops Chisora within 4 rounds.

Nah not in 4. Could see him forcing a stoppage late perhaps like Fury did.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - 23 May 2020?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Eddie Hearn says there may be a news conference this week to formally announce the May 23 between Oleksander Usyk and Dereck Chisora for May 23 at the O2 Arena in London, England. Hearn is predicting that the Usyk-Chisora fight will be well received by the boxing public, and it will create a massive stir.

The fight is a DONE deal for the 23rd of May on Sky Sports, and it just needs an official announcement to the boxing public.

Hearn: Usyk vs. Chisora is “MONSTROUS” fight
“You may see a press conference this week as well,” said Hearn to Boxing Social on the Usyk vs. Chisora fight. “That fight is done. It’s the worse kept secret in boxing. May 23rd at the O2. It’s a monstrous fight and one that will create a huge amount of stir when it’s finally formally announced. As it gets closer, it’s going to get more interesting.

“The questions will start and people will start doubting,” Hearn said of fans potentially doubting Usyk can beat Chisora. “We know Usyk is unbeatable. He’s the [former] undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world with great movement, but up at heavyweight, there will be questions, and there were questions even in the Chazz Witherspoon fight. So let’s see him against Dereck Chisora,”
said Hearn.

Chisora could be a nightmare for Usyk
“If Dereck Chisora can lean on him, slobber on him, be that big hurtful heavyweight, I don’t think this is going to be easy for Oleksandr Usyk,” said Hearn. “In fact, sitting there as the mandatory challenger for [WBO heavyweight champion] Anthony Joshua, I think this is an incredibly ballsy fight to take because if Chisora gets through these opening rounds, he’s going to be an absolute nightmare for Oleksandr Usyk. So I’m excited, and I’m excited about the fight. I think it’s a real banana skin [for Usyk],” said Hearn.
