5-) Evander Holyfield
4-) Lennox Lewis
3-) Larry Holmes
2-) Mike Tyson
1-) Muhammed Ali
This is from an old interview but I couldn't find the thread in here. So what do you guys think about AJ's list?

Take out Tyson, and put in Joe Louis in that spot, and it would not be bad. Guessing he doesn't know much about Louis or anyone before Ali.

Tyson at #2 is awful. Nothing against Mike, I like him but there's no case for him in the top 5 IMO. You don't see Holyfield in a lot of top 5's but I think it's fair enough.
Re: AJ's Top 5 Greatest HW Fighters
Not sure how he compiled this list.
He's 30 years old, so probably hasn't seen anyone before about 1998. Therefore, he'll never have seen Ali, and will only have seen the latter parts of the careers of the other 4 fighters.
So he's either gone off reputation, or else has watched old videos and dvds.
In which case there's no excuse for not including Joe Louis.

No excuse for Tyson over evander. It's not subjective, better resume and he kicked his ass.

possibly he may have watched Larry Holmes vrs Butterbean on the telly in 2003.
but was it shown live in the UK ?
many he doesn't enjoy watching boxers on "grainy old film".
or dark fading old non-HD video-tape.

Re: AJ's Top 5 Greatest HW Fighters
He said his top 5 favourite not the top 5 greatest.
Re: AJ's Top 5 Greatest HW Fighters
Aaahhh, that would explain it. I missed him saying that, and just read the title of the video, and heard the interviewer's original phrasing of the question.
Re: AJ's Top 5 Greatest HW Fighters
I guess, Lewis isn't among his favorite anymore.
