Same here but later rounds. As James Mc was saying, Saunders won’t throw enough. Even against Lemieux who he figured out pretty early he didn’t up the tempo. I’d say his stamina is not great. Saunders is tricky and will frustrate but if Canelo brings the pressure like he has recently, I don’t feel Saunders can keep him off.
Canelo is a much more intelligent fighter than Lemieux is aswell.

Also regardless of whoever you think won in the Canelo-Lara fight, I think Lara is more tricky than BJS is and more elusive or was at the time, and that was still a very close fight.
From what I remember of Canelo Lara, which I haven’t revisited for obvious reasons, was Lara literally running for large portions of the round. Maybe he engaged for 30 seconds or so and in that time landed one or two clean punches. I don’t like that type of time wasting and it wasn’t so much make him miss, it was run and not engage, which I feel shouldn’t be rewarded when that running behaviour dominates round after round.

People sleep on Canelo like he is still the same fighter as he was vs Trout, Lara or FMJ. Canelo has developed as a top fighter and his boxing skills and power are elite. Also Canelo has a lot of top-quality experience that it gives him a lot of confidence when he's fighting. Canelo beats Saunders soundly, possible T/K.O's him. Saunders fought some low quality opponents, excepting Andy Lee and Lemieux. BJS is inconsistent as a fighter. Also I remember when BJS fought Akavov and he looked very poor in that fight.

People would be monumentally stupid to be so dismissive of any fighter in their physical prime that has engaged in sixteen world title fights in weight classes from 154lbs to 175lbs, whilst having fought eighteen world champions.

Miguel Vasquez twice, Carlos Manuel Baldomir, Erislandy Lara, Lovemore Ndou etc.

There doesn’t have to be a correlation between the amount of world champions fought and the number of world title fights competed in.

We're they all current world champs when he fought them. If so then why weren't belts on the line :bag:

Canelo has fought many fighters that were either former, current or future world champions at the time of their bouts.

Lara was definitely champion at the time, but was not at stake as the fight was contested at the Canelo-weight 155.

Former champs and future champs are not the same as current champs. Your statement was untrue and misleading. Your a fraud. Go provide some links tosser :bag:

I'm going Canelo by TKO. I think Saunders is a damn fine boxer, I just don't seen Saunders being the slickster that can befuddle Canelo for 12 rounds. I think Canelo eventually catches him and stops him.

A well-prepared Saunders can be slick enough to avoid Canelo's best shots, but in this case he'll most likely be outworked, while Canelo will be aided by the judges in any case. I guess, the fight will look like exactly like that, but hopefully Saunders will bring some surprises.

Billy Joe Saunders lacks discipline and motivation. He often enters the ring out-of-shape and somehow finds a way to do just about do enough to maintain his unbeaten record.

The thing is… he’s an incredibly gifted fighter and I don’t think we’ve seen him at his best. I think he's underrated.

So I suspect he’s capable of providing Canelo with a stern test for six or seven rounds, but the Mexican’s body shots will inevitably wear him down.

The Brit might even be leading the fight on the scorecards but will probably suffer a Khan or a Kovalev-esque late stoppage loss… and what I mean is that Canelo will likely land one of his haymakers, despite “technically” losing the bout at the time of the KO.

Probably that's the matter of the opposition. Sometimes it looked like he underestimated opponents, who weren't considered as tough matchups. He was usually prepared well for big bouts.

Yeah, I agree. I feel he’s similar to his close friend Tyson Fury in that respect. :TU:

To some extent. Anyway, even despite the fact of long drugging and fatting hiatus Fury is more disciplined. Especially now.

Fight no-namers all the time ain't funny. BJS got some names like Lee and Lemieux and has grite. So lets see if he can upset Canelo. It is a tall order. But, would be fun to see some more schack ups other among the heavyweights. Since well, the p4p is pretty meh, when the top guys are all over the place so no real "mega" fights can be made. For now.

Im hoping for a upset of the decade. Since Canelo is the boxrec no.1 in p4p and BJS is no.72. A decision win, by like 3 points? Not only a great upset but also a meaningless but nice looking WBC-trinket in the process :yay:

Sorry mate, but even if BJS outpoints Canelo in a dreadful snoozer, he won't win on the cards.
