Definitely not Tyson. He was obviously exciting but his lack of ability inside mixed with scared opponents led to a lot of holding. I know I always go to holyfield but look at their career fights. Mike arguably was never in a truly great fight. Holy was in many. 80's was hearns anyway.

i thought about it, he realy rarly was in a great fight, because in his prime he kod opponents so quick. action per seconde mike tyson, most great fights easily manny.

I suspect you're talking out of your backside about the 40's, 50's and 70's, by simply mentioning big names rather than actually making the effort to watch lots of bouts for many fighters during those decades.

Gerald McClellan during the 90's is just plain wrong. And it's far too early to speculate on the most etertaining boxer of this current decade (i.e. for all we know, every single one Inoue's bouts from this point onwards might end up being a snooze fest).

mcclellan, tyson, holyfield, trinidad brought more excitemant. rjj skill just was on another level, but maybe same reason why floyd fought so cautions, hurt hands, was the reason most of his boughts were one sided and semi boring.

I haven't seen enough to say, but Carmen Basilio was in Ring Magazine's Fight of the Year 5 consecutive years in a row in the 1950's so I'd say he must've been pretty damn entertaining to watch.

Yeah I have a lot of Gerald McClellan fights, and while he's not boring he wouldn't crack my Top 20 of most entertaining fighters of the 90's. No slight on him, but the 90's had a lot of REALLY exciting guys.

Tito Trinidad, Holyfield, Naseem Hamed, and of course as I mentioned Gatti.

Just to name a few. You could reel off several more names more entertaining to watch than McClellan. He was a big puncher, but was seldom involved in a competitive 2 way fight.

I actually had initially put a sidebar saying (honorable mention to Francisco Vargas and Orlando Salido) both of whom were never in a bad fight that I can recall.

Speaking of Francisco he must've had a lot taken out of him with some of them wars, he's kinda faded away now, and doesn't seem to be very active anymore. Maybe he just decided his long term health was more important than pursuing boxing any further. Wouldn't blame him if so.

So yeah I won't disagree with you on Salido. Very entertaining fighter.

2010-20 has to be Loma, I love the skills. All young fighters should watch his pro matches.
2000-2010 Manny. Nearly always the littler bloke, banging and boxing his way through the weight classes. The JMM trilogy was epic. Honourable mention to Joe Calzaghe.
1990-2000 This is a tough one for me. On the one hand the skills of RJJ, when he was his fastest, and the all around boxer Holyfield who humbled a few beasts.
1980-1990 Has to be Duran for me. His gutsy run through the 80's was fan friendly for all the fights I've seen.
1970-1980 Ali. Sure guys like Frazier , Norton and Big George made Ali fights great, but I think it was Ali who got my arse to the Y

You mean the 2010s by "this last decade"?

If so, GGG is a good pick. Arthur Abraham also comes to my mind. That blood war where he lost 1/2 gallon blood from his broken jaw against miranda or the war and classic KO against Taylor. But AA best fights were in the previous decade.
