Will Fury retire soon?
Re: Will Fury retire soon?
Given that he seems to have several avenues of potential money making in entertainment I think he may well be true to his word that he won't fight too many more times. I think he'll insist on fighting AJ before he leaves it all though, so actually for us that want to see him fight more it may actually be good for us if that fight marinates a while, and Fury gets 3 or 4 title defenses before they're able to put a deal together.
I don't figure he'll fight nearly as long as a lot of other guys though. Unless he just finds it hard to maintain his mental health without the fitness regimen that comes along with being an Athlete. I'm sure you could get into the habit of working out whether you're fighting or not though. Hell at some point you'll have to. You can't fight forever.

Tyson and his wife Paris were interviewed on the 'This Morning' program on U.K TV today.
Tyson said he is contracted to a rematch with Wilder then he would like to fight AJ and call it a day.

My friend, a former world class boxer, said the only way to do it was not even hit a bag when retiring. He stuck to that for twelve years.gilgamesh wrote: ↑05 Mar 2020, 13:57 Given that he seems to have several avenues of potential money making in entertainment I think he may well be true to his word that he won't fight too many more times. If he retires soon he’s gonna jump straight into showbiz/entertainment. Be it wwe, acting, singing, his own fooking talk show... he’ll need something to get into big time... he could do the lot! Tell you what thou, I can see him having physical health problems. Did you see him running... it was painful to watch... can imagine his joints are under a lot of pressure. Reckon his legs will go long before his boxing sharpness.

Maybe they're already bothering him? Maybe that's why the retirement talk, and the taking up of a more aggressive style.Bigdogsnose wrote: ↑06 Mar 2020, 03:26 If he retires soon he’s gonna jump straight into showbiz/entertainment. Maybe... obviously he's never gonna look like mo farah running but it looked plain odd. Did think he looked more solid on fight night then he ever has before.gilgamesh wrote: ↑06 Mar 2020, 14:33Maybe they're already bothering him? Fury has always looked absolutely awkward and clumsy as f@ck moving around outside the ring, it's really quite amazing to think he's probably the best moving HW in the world because it's painful to watch him get around at times, I mean I know being like 6'8 and all can make guys look funny but he takes it to new levels

I think he should be a trainer. He has to be in the gym mentally and he has great knowledge in boxing.

Yes, I think he would make a great trainer once he hangs up his gloves.Winter king wrote: ↑07 Mar 2020, 06:11 I think he should be a trainer. He has to be in the gym mentally and he has great knowledge in boxing.
Re: Will Fury retire soon?
Fighters never retire . Age stops them or something else like family.and he looks to have a good family around him. So it is possible

I have a feeling you could be right, one-time.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑26 Feb 2020, 17:03 I think he'll beat wilder again and fight Josh. I expect after that he'll sit out til a behometh comeback in his early 40s.
Whether he leaves it until his early 40s though, possibly he would come back sooner.

On the other hand if he got splatted by Wilder or aj, would he pursue revenge, I suspect he would.
---
As an aside. If the titles are unified by one champion. Would that temp Wlad to make a big comeback.

Klitschko is history and that's where he'll stay I reckon.

Re: Will Fury retire soon?
My worry is that if he retires after presumably defeating AJ, then he may fall back into his previous cycles of drugs and excess and the spiral of depression...
A man like that needs to be part of something big, needs something to keep him focussed.
Yeah, amateur psychology I know, but fighting is probably good for Fury. Keeps him fit and focussed and off the Lady Stardust.

Once he’s beaten AJ, he won’t go off the rails. He’s at an all time high now, people love him. After Wlad, he crashed because he got no credit, people brought up Peter and Big John’s past.... whilst raving about AJ beating Charles Martin! They’ve had a reality check now. He seems a sensitive man, he’s got what he’s always wanted.
Re: Will Fury retire soon?
he only ever came back for the money.. he will fight wilder again then maybe aj then that's it.. wouldnt surprise me if he never even fought AJ and just retired after the wilder fight
