The Empire Strikes Back
First it was Fury threatening UKAD, then somehow the Canelo failure got quietly 'corrected' by WADA and now Dillian Whyte is also in the clear after UKAD backs down, again.
So what is it to be? Useless testing agencies or underhand bullying by the big money boys? Is this a case of David v Goliath, a middleweight v a superheavyweight?
Is it also too much to presume that if you (or your backer) have enough money to pay big legal firms, then you no longer have to worry about testing. You can simply threaten to bankrupt anyone who ever challenges you, and shutout any journalist who questions why your fighter won't face 365 random testing. Simple as that.
In fact Eddie Hearn has even mentioned legal action re the Whyte case. Really Eddie? Seriously?
Are they actually going after Thomas Hauser, or is this just another bluff to silence any naughty journalists who won't keep their mouths shut?
Once again the dirty sport of boxing reveals its ugly side in the ways the big investments are protected.
But only the biggest investments.

This and Rogue One are the best of the series.

"And it's still going on, not with UKAD, but the people who tried to f**k with him".

Nice one Eddie. Congratulations on joining the dark side.
We await the sequel. The Phantom TUE Menace.
But we won't hold our breath. You know how long these legal processes can take.
No way in Hell they are going anywhere near Hauser.
Nothing more than empty words to distract from business as usual.
Especially when they now have UKAD by the balls.

Re: The Empire Strikes Back
WADA had nothing whatsoever to do with Canelo receiving a ban for consuming tainted meat. They didn't receive any monies from the WBC or from Canelo.Thomastearns wrote: ↑10 Dec 2019, 19:08then somehow the Canelo failure got quietly 'corrected' by WADA
In fact, VADA doesn't adhere to WADA (as per the Billy Joe Saunders case).
The reason they changed their stance on contaminated meat was based on extensive research and scientific evidence. Their rule changes affect all sports.
If you want to debate this point with me, simply because alleged "corruption" is far more interestimg than reality, then please feel free.

Re: The Empire Strikes Back
Thomas Hauser used to be an independent journalist who regularly criticised HBO, but then suddenly became one of their employees, which resulted in him instantly changing his tune(as previously explained by Yahoos Kevin Iole).margaret thatcher wrote: ↑10 Dec 2019, 19:10 EO, my fact adducing friend, what do you think of Tommy Hauser?
Hauser then decided to persistently criticise the PBC (HBO’s main rival) and claimed that Haymon’s TV show would very quickly go out of business. He was wrong!
As per his role with HBO, he was known to strategically publish articles about Haymon fighters, usually relating to Floyd Mayweather Jr. around important milestones for Showtime’s PPV events (i.e. fight week, press conferences etc.).
Hauser is abundantly aware that publishing controversial articles related to boxing’s newest “big thing”raises his own profile. He has a track-record for doing this.
Simply put, Thomas Hauser usually has an agenda. Review the dates his articles are published and the subject matter he writes about, because you’ll notice a trend.
Thomas Hauser often creates smoke even when there’s no fire!

I’m sorry but wtf. Rogue one is trash. It’s a jumbled mess. The prequels are better. The order goes: empire, then a new hope, then the prequels, then rogue one, then the new terrible trilogy. Anyway Star Wars is ruined.

Re: The Empire Strikes Back
1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Rogue One
3. A New Hope
4. Revenge of the Sith
5. Return of the Jedi
6. The Force Awakens
7. The Phantom Menace
8. The Last Jedi
9. The Rise of Skywalker
10. Attack of the Clones
11. Solo
For me there is a great chasm between #5 and 6. I really enjoy the top 5. I only watch the others if one of my kids really wants to watch them. Then I usually do something else. TBH, I've never really watched Solo all the way through. I've tried 3 times and failed each time.
Did you not like the Mandolorian series?

If I'm going to be honest, I was that upset after both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi that I haven't seen the new ones lol. I.E The rise of Skywalker, Solo, or the tv show.
I have heard good things about the show but I'm not ready...

You should give The Mandalorian a crack. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.lazboy wrote: ↑15 Mar 2020, 19:44Impractical Poster wrote: ↑15 Mar 2020, 19:21

I was really surprised, thought it would be poor. Hard to believe the creator is Jon Favreau. I always think of the movie Swingers whenever I think of him.tiny_acres wrote: ↑15 Mar 2020, 21:10The mandalorian series is incredibleImpractical Poster wrote: ↑15 Mar 2020, 19:21
