I think Fury is skilled and durable enough to deal with Liston's left jab, if he does that he wins.

Fury wins by decision.

Fury's size, elusiveness and speed would become key factors in winning Liston. Fury by decision or late stoppage.

Is this twilight zone? Bizarro world? Come on. Fury ain't no Cassius Clay. Liston would have no problem finding him. It would be a moral victory for Fury to reach the later rounds.

If Liston could be there by the final rounds, which I don't think he would.

We need to reconfigure our minds when it comes down to past Heavyweights...they were still all time greats no question, but must would be not more than Cruiserweights nowadays, fighting monsters of the past 30 year (taking Lennox Lewis into consideration too) or so.

Size wise the only one who would not be over-matched would be Primo Carnera. Only size-wise, through...

Fury ko 6 after a few uncomfortable jabs to his stomach.

How did Joe Louis do against Carnera?

No most the heavyweight champions of the past would not have been cruiserweights.
We need to reconfigure something. Like looking at how good someone was, not the scale. It has been shown over and over and over that ability means a lot more than weight.

Btw, Liston weighed more against Ali than than Wilder did in the first Fury fight.

What an arrogant bias.
Oh please. How is that bias?
Elusiveness, speed? Compared to what?

Of course, it was bias from you. No arguments, but only prejudiced thesises about how bad Fury is in comparison to Liston.

Opinion is "I think so, because...", which is expressed in a neutral way. A critical point of view. He made a heated comment, gave no arguments and he said that as if it was some obvious fact.

You said Fury's speed, elisiveness, etc. He said LIston wouldn't have any issue finding him. I think you're a bit sensitive Duke.

Fury by wide UD. Too big too mobile for Liston, who's jab wouldn't reach effectively.

I thought this on was obvious. Liston was better in just about every way.

Liston was a harder puncher. He had a better chin. He had a much higher work rate. Better jab. A better all round boxing skills. Liston was able to nail fighters more elusive than Fury.

Liston would be landing on Fury much more than Fury could land on him.

Returning to what I've said initially.

How did you determine that?
Ambling Alp II wrote: 20 Mar 2020, 12:56 He had a much higher work rate.
How the workrate makes to win? Suddenly it gotta be effective.

I think Liston had a better chin by going by their careers.
How does workrate help you win? Well, the more punches you throw, the more you will land. Fury isn't going to beat Sonny Liston throwing 30 punches a round. Liston would throw literally twice as many punches as Fury. He is going to land more. punches than Fury, If you land more, have a better chin, and have more power, guess what? You are probably going to win.

Cleveland Williams was more elusive than Fury, Zora Folley was.

I will give Fury and Wilder credit; they at least had the balls to fight each other. That being said, lets not go overboard here.

Nah, he's probably serious. For a guy like Alp, someone fighting in the 1960s automatically makes them more elusive than Fury

I mean , I'm not one of these nuts who think Fury was some Mayweather level defensive master, but Clev Williams
