I haven't checked any boxing news sites for 3 weeks now.
It's too depressing.
I used to take a look every few days.

British Boxing Board of Control extend ban to April

Previously, the BBBofC banned all boxing events during MArch with a review to take place in April: "With regard to the above and the statement made by the Prime Minister Boris Johnson, all public tournaments under the jurisdiction of the British Boxing Board of Control are unforutnately cancelled. Further consideration of the matter will take place at the beginning of April."

But today, the Board released a statement extending that ban for a further month: "Following further Government and Medical Authorities advice, the British Boxing Board of Control have decided that the suspension of boxing tournaments under the BBBofC jurisdiction remains in place until end of April when further consideration will be given.

We will continue to follow Government and Medical Authorities advice and keep the situation under review.

The BBBofC would like to emphasise our thoughts are with everyone affected by COVID-19."

Its virtually harmless to all but 85 year old cabbages with dodgy lungs and asthma.

However, the world is now thrown into economic crisis as a result of these lockdowns and travel restrictions and tens of millions can realistically lose their jobs.

More people will top themselves as a result of these hysterical measures than die from the virus itself.

When did the world become such a snowflake ridden media controlled madhouse??

What happens when the next flu bug comes?? Lockdown again? Economically the knock on effects of all this will be devastating and could literally put us back 20 years

Simply tell the vulnerable to isolate themselves for a month and let the remaining 99% of society go about their business as usual.
Why look to doctors in this time of need when you’ve got absolutely uneducated morons preaching about something they know less than nothing about, have never studied and no medical background whatsoever... on a boxing forum? Thanks for your input. It’s duly unnoted
Mate you are the clueless one here. Believe any old lies the media feed you.

Do some research buddy boy. You will find that the average age of those that have died in Italy is 80 years old and that 99% of them had underlying health problems

600,000 people die every year from normal flu.

Thus far 13,000 have died from this "killer bug"

Yeah buddy, I conclude that this ain't no normal flu bug.

Fake news. Wake up you moron and start thinking for yourself   :-P

MTK cancel big April weekend – two more shows gone

The big MTKFightNight weekend is no more.

Like an abundance of shows across the globe the two lined up for Belfast and the last weekend in April have been cancelled due to the current pandemic.

MTK confirmed the news today meaning a host of local talent are left without fights.

Both the Europa Hotel and Ulster Hall shows have been postponed.

The Ulster Hall event was set to star some of the island’s hottest talent with Sean McComb vs. Craig Evans, Gary Cully vs. Maxi Hughes and Paul Hyland Jr vs. Terry Flanagan catching fan attention.

Pierce O’Leary, James McGivern, Paul McCullagh and Fearghus Quinn where all meant to trade leather on the card.

The Europa Hotel was set to host fights for the likes of Paddy Gallagher, Padraig McCrory, Eric Donovan, Declan Geraghty Callum Bradley, Ruairi Dalton, Sean Duffy and Dee Sullivan.

MTK released the following statement confirming the news:

Following the announcement from the BBBofC that the suspension of all events under their jurisdiction will remain in place until the end of April, MTK Global confirms its three events scheduled for next month will be postponed.

The MTK Fight Night at York Hall on April 18, the MTK Fight Night at the Europa Hotel on April 24, and the MTK Fight Night at Ulster Hall on April 25 will all take place at a later date.

We are working hard to reschedule at the earliest possible dates, but full refunds for the events will be available from point of sale if required.

The ongoing pandemic in the UK means that the full weight of medical care must be thrown behind the NHS and we fully support all decisions taken to ensure people get the best advice, treatment and care as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we hope you all stay safe.

Why the fug would the media and worldwide government's look to create such a shitstorm about a viral pandemic
bankrupting millions , sending the world in to disarray ?
I can't quite see the logic behind your backwards thinking , how many people do you know or have ever heard of have died from the flu ?
The NHS announces every year the flu virus tests it's capacity to its limits but why would they go in to total meltdown about covid 19 , is that fake news as well ?
Oh and your choice of words with the " cabbage " reference is a disgrace , there will be children that are post and pre- transplant and cancer sufferers that will be a massive risk here .
Not to worry though cos it's all fake news apparently .

Not really worth debating as you’re clearly a total moron. But seasonal flu has a death rate of something like 0.1%. No medical professionals have likened this global pandemic to being anything like flu for a long time now.

mMMM Well i have had a similar convo with someone who's lets call a non believer ,, in that i mean he does'nt believe theres any virus , he believes its a MILD strain of Flu ,,,, he too bases his figures on the released deaths , infections ect ,, he too cites that the normal flu kills more , he too blames it on rich people throwing the world into disarey so they can buy everyones house cheap , ect ect ect .
But when I asked if i can have his bog rolls , and if he wants to give me the food he's stocked , its all about , yeh but just in case i'll keep it ,,, suppose it makes him feel a bit tough sayng i'm not bothered , its the govt bullshitting , but never the less he's taking precortions ,, such has he's self employed , i told him , i still get lots of phone calls asking me to do jobs i don't want , i asked i know a few who need jobs doing urgently , do you want them , . and he says NO ,, wonder why he's fairly young late 30;s he's not got enough to retire ,, but yet he is not accepting work , just gonna finish what he's got and stay home for a few months ,,, Why i asked him after all its only bullshit according too him

This talk of global conspiracy makes me laugh. Total bollocks. People are under an illusion re: how much control people have. Hell, you can't even keep a secret / agree on something in a team of 10, yet a handful of people control and decide everything??? Yeah, right.

Do not underestimate the Illuminati

Next you'll be telling me that Oswald really did shoot JFK and the Americans put a man in the moon in 1969 ( but can't do it today)

Fake news, manipulated. Remember the bird flu? That was supposed to kill 50 million people......

No, obviously not. The supermarkets have supplies lines and it stops the elderly getting their supplies. Stockpiling is as insane as you... what a dumb pudendum you are. Imagine claiming to be an expert of a pandemic. So thick it’s actually unreal
