You didn't. He's just doing his usual schtick.
Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
As his argument gets weaker he'll start posting more emojis.
Then when he's really on the ropes he'll ask me who my top ten is.

Lol, as if anyone is having trouble putting forth a strong argument vs your fussing about size being considered
If you are going to take guys as they actually were, of course it's relevant, of course it should be mentioned, of course it's not flawed just because it puts little guys at a disadvantage. If none of this is to matter, or if size shouldn't be part of it because it's unfair, you gotta stretch some bones out on some guys, crunch them on others, etc...because that's essentialy what you're arguing for
Btw can hardly see anyone saying it's all that matter, this always happens though , someone just mentions it a s a factor and you get someone moaning 'waah, look he's saying size is all that matters and biggest is best '

I wouldn't expect rankings out of you anyway, too much work, too much thinking, you prefer the just chrip in with one or two liners
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
Smaller guys from prior eras should be able to use baseball bats to even things out vs the slick giants of today!margaret thatcher wrote: ↑26 Mar 2020, 17:49 Lol, as if anyone is having trouble putting forth a strong argument vs your fussing about size being consideredIf you are going to take guys as they actually were, of course it's relevant, of course it should be mentioned, of course it's not flawed just because it puts little guys at a disadvantage. I think most of us know that size is an attribute just like hand speed; footwork; athleticism; power, etc.

Ya, but some people think it's unfair game to mention it ,,, ooh, those poor poor little guys of the 1900s
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
I'll try and make it nice an easy for you to understand.
Yes, Fury would possibly knock Jack Dempsey, Rocky Marciano and Joe Louis into next week due to the size difference.
But that doesn't make Fury a greater heavyweight than any of them.

It makes him their daddy
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
But but but Jack Johnson once fought someone who was 5ft 7 so that means he was rubbish.
But but but Fury is much bigger than Jack Johnson so that means he's better.
Do you even read your own posts?

Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
If you believe that Fury can do that then you believe he might be the best ever. I think Lewis beats them all so I guess I think he's the greatest HW ever.

He won the HW title from that guy too, would be like someone winning the HW title today vs Danny Garcia
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
No I don't. I'm a Fury fan as you well know.
But I'd be bonkers to rank him above other heavyweights such as the afore mentioned. And plenty others

Yeah but that's not how I think we should rate them.
I think they should be rated on what they achieved in their era based on real life.
Not what people think might happen when a big guy meets a smaller guy.

Thread was about who is better ability wise, hardly bonkers to think someone is better than a guy they beat (and a guy who think they would beat)
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
There's such a size difference between a Fury/Lewis and the top HWS from the first half of the 20th century that you'd arguably have to look at it P4P. Fury best ever is quite a stretch, but top 10 is reasonable.
Re: Is Fury the best heavyweight of all time?
For example
Ali came out on top based on the head to head meetings of all the heavyweights in his era. Which included a decent number of fellow heavyweight champions and fellow all time greats. . In an era where there was only one recognised champion to boot.
Fury can't say that. At least yet. He has a win against one guy who could arguably be considered as an atg. Plus one other heavyweight champion. Those are great wins but not enough imo to elevate you above others who have came before.

Another boxing forum feature: 1 guy says something extreme, suddenly people claim everyone is saying it
