Marvin Hagler vs Mike McCallum

Post by zuru »

2 great fighters. Both versatile, great stamina, chins, boxing ability.Great offense, defense.Quality of opposition was great. Both seemed to will themselves in tough fights to find a win.

A shame there'd have to be a loser.McCallum would have the height, maybe some reach, but Hagler showed he could handle taller opponents. And McCallum that he could fight close.

If McCallum fights, maybe Hagler wins.If he boxes, he might frustrate Hagler into being a little tentative at the coming counters (Duran fight?)

I dont know.

Marvelous edges because he was much stronger at 160lbs. He wins by a very close margin.

It would been an even fight, but the Marvelous One would get the better of the Body Snatcher with heavy punches to take a decision if the fight schedule for 15 rounds at middleweight.
