Why are Boxers from certain parts of the world so good?

Post by RonnyJ »

there is a new thread about why eastern european boxers are so good. this made me think, why are boxers from certain parts of the world so good.

first we do have to remember, it is tough to get punched in the face, it is a hard living, even so the best defensve boxer ever fmj had had broken hands, bloody nose, swollen face, effects like stuttering caused by brain trauma etc..

that said, normaly boxers come from a tough background. with no money, poor. why? cause people in general dont like to get punched in the face for a living when they got good amount of money on the bank account, thats why! this is the reason why black americans were so dominant in boxing from 1940-1990. they wanted to escape the brutal reality of the ghetto and in boxing 1 fight can change your whole life, 1 fight can make a you a financial winner (if you aint a adrien broner type of character, he could make fmj type of money and still burn it). italiens were very poor when they came to NY, they produced a lot of good boxers, than they had restaurants made a good living and choosed comfort over boxing.

second, after background is the DNA, some peoples DNA does not fit for boxing. what is the perfect DNA for boxing: athletic, strong, high reflexe. this DNA is found in eastern european, in black america, in cuba. eastern europeans, just like black americans struggled a lot in the past, poor, working in the field, harsh life. struggle and phsicale work produces strong man. why dont have germans many great boxers, they eat a lot are tall strong. because they have been rich before and after war, they are an industrial superpower and this comes to the old phrase "you dont let somebody punch you in the face when your bankaccount is doing well". struggle makes tough.

the last points, money, in the soviet union you couldnt make no money from boxing, in USA you could, dempsey, louis, ali made good money. money motivates. soviet union is no more, now russia, ukraine boxers want to become millioneres and they got the DNA and thats what is happening right now.

Some boxers don't actualyl box.

They don't know how to.

They only know how to slug.

Just to throw punches until they ttire themselves out. These kinda boxers are from everywhere around the world though.

Most places have there own culture around boxing is my takeway. Not much pointing at why, more that Sweden got like... 2 or 3 contenders now and then. But, boxing ain't big and the stigma around it is present nowdays since all the injuries and fighting ain't a-ok. Or posting a video like BJS did made the news here on the sportpages. MMA is all good thou.

We do lack a solid tradition and people back in the day lost it after seeing Ingo getting beaten up made them quite on boxing. Something that is... a paradox in many ways. Eitherway proboxing got banned some years later.

I don't think we lack people who can't fight. Leaning on that the sport is small here and not in the mainstream. We do have sort famous boxers... but like we have... Wallin and some gals.

Some people/some nations are tougher than others

Some people/some nations can fight better than others.

Some people/some nations have better genes/DNA.

Some people/some nations have a better work ethic they work harder

Also having high standards is very important in boxing. Some nations have the belief that only a Olympic or World Championship Gold medal is a success and anything else is a failure. Whereas other nations are jumping for joy at just getting to the quarter finals, or winning a poxy Bronze medal at the Cmmonwealth Games.
