Teofilo Stevenson stats

Why does BoxRec list Teofilo Stevenson as 6'2 1/2"? He was 6'5" and 220lbs.

They always make these type of mistakes. Like Michael Dokes is 6'3" when he is really like 6'1 1/2".

Dokes always looked 6'3'' to me. I think that is what he was measured at in prison in 1999 (and classified "EXTREMELY DANGEROUS"). Where do you get your information?

You only have to look at photos of him and Ali standing together to see Stevenson was a lot taller

Someone on the radio mentioned it years ago when Michael was making his comeback. Plus, standing next to Larry Holmes, he looked a shade shorter than Larry, who is 6'3" minimum.

Pictures are often misleading, and have been so often. Look at his face to face with Ruddock. He's clearly 6'3''.

Most listed heights are not exact because they are taken in full inches or sometimes half inches, but there are all sorts of heights in between (like 6'2.78'), so you get guys listed at the same when there are actually slight differences. Of course height inflation is rampant too. Dokes at least looks close to the other 6'3 listed guys he stands with. It's conviebale that he coulda just been 6'2.7 or something and rounded up to the nearest inch

Also, he had a giant forehead, so he could have a lower eye level than guys his own height and that could create an illusion of him being shorter than he was (people often just start looking straight at the eyes to compare)

Also look at his sparring session with Ali. He is shorter.

True, and I could see him in The 6'2" range. Full blown 6'3", not sure.

the funniest shit you ever posted mags!

and you're actually right for once too, with the technology today they really could give the exact actual height (of course then they have to give at least mornin' & daytime & evening heights plus the according reaches)!

and fvck off with that ridiculous wwe-type exaggerations.

on the other hand it would end all discussion bout a fighter:'s real height, which is a tradition on it's own since... forever.

o.s. how tall does david haye himself think he is? he can't be seriius with the6'3" pre & 6'4 post his spine operation, when it's clear that he's 6' 1 1/2".

i'm interested in real height of a fighter too but i stop at the half inches & the truth always shows in the ring

The tale of the tape for Dokes-Coetzee had Dokes at 6'3. Have also seen him listed at 6'2.
Holmes was listed at both 6'3 and 6'4. Foreman was usually 6"3, then in his comeback was somehow 6'4.
The truth is probably in the middle.
Harry Wills is listed on Boxrec as 6'2. I have seen him listed at 6'4 several other places. He looks taller than 6'2.

Overall , I think Boxrec's heights listings are pretty accurate. Probably 99% of the time. I guess we get obssessed with the occasional ones that seem off.
