Biggest disparity between a fighter's best win and their overall ranking
With the talk of Bowe, who has 2 atg wins but some dispute over his own status even in the top 20, I'm wondering, who scored a win that was most out of proportion with their all time ranking? So this is presumably from guys who otherwise had thin resumes
Re: Biggest disparity between a fighter's best win and their overall ranking
Schmeling has a KO over most people's #1 or 2 yet probably doesn't appear in their top 20

Laing beating Duran.

Is this a duplicate thread?

I responded to this thread in British and Irish. Those responses aren't here in "history." Thus my question.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑06 Apr 2020, 18:49 Just read the original posts again and there's your answer![]()

Randy Turpin beat SRR
Oliver McCall and Hashim Rahman both beat Lennox neither of them would rank top 100 heavyweights

I'd say both would be top 100, still not a bad answer. Corrie Sanders isn't top 100.

They are different threads on the same question, as I mentioned in the other, I started one in the Brit section too because this one can be sloweroogiebe wrote: ↑06 Apr 2020, 18:54I responded to this thread in British and Irish. Ross Purrity
Frankie Randall
James Braddock
Vince Phillips
I'd throw in Ralph Jones, but that would just remind me of that moron Kalan.

Randall would kick Chavez ass 8 days a week.
Re: Biggest disparity between a fighter's best win and their overall ranking
How about Willy Wise then?
All I recall was that Randall seemed to win pretty clearly and yet only eked out a split decision. Just think, just one point the other way and his deserving win would have been nothing more than a historical footnote draw.
Don't you have Chavez in your top 50? Even top 30? Is this more about Randall being really good?
Anyway, Ross Purrity is my real submission.

This is true I think
Re: Biggest disparity between a fighter's best win and their overall ranking
The King/Chavez ref Richard Steele deducted one if not two points from JCC for low blows - possibly to atone for the accusations of bias and corruption in favour of Chavez. Ironically, without Steele, Randall would have lost on points! Would have been an all-time horror of a verdict.jas80s wrote: ↑07 Apr 2020, 13:34How about Willy Wise then?![]()

Chavez might be in my top 50, if not, close to it. I remember Randall fighting Rosario in the UK for some reason, he got hosed there too. Chavez was a great fighter, sucked he came with a referee and judges on the payroll. He was no Erik Morales.jas80s wrote: ↑07 Apr 2020, 13:34How about Willy Wise then?![]()
