Patterson could give Holmes a fight, but Larry would outbox Floyd. Larry was more advanced and polished boxer. Moreover, his punching power would be enough to stop Patterson.

Assuming both are in their primes, I believe Floyd's style could give Larry troubles. I can see Larry knocking Floyd down somewhere along the way, but my opinion is that Floyd would survive to the final bell. I'm going with Larry by unanimous decision, but not altogether one sided, with Floyd winning some rounds.
