Hey, he made more money than anybody that ever exclusively fought 4 rounders by a wide margin I'm sure, so he did something right I guess.
He had a great gimmick

One of the only "gimmick" boxers I can think of. You hear of gimmicks in Professional Wrestling, but gimmicks in Boxing is considerably more rare.

Jorge Paez coming out in his Superman suits when he was old news kinda became a gimmick in his later years, but he was a serious fighter at one point.

What's undignified about fighting a guy for money and losing?

Is every Boxer than ever lost a fight undignified now?

In front of the planet? Nah, you're all right - it's not like a legit boxing match - it's just ego pandering of two halfwits old enough to know better.

Boxers lose on TV, and to large crowds that saw them lose in person.

What's the difference? A fight is a fight. There's a winner and there's a loser.

Because they're boxers - there is no shame in a boxer losing a fight anywhere - this is just a punch on between two egotistical old men with nothing at stake except for their egos - I don't think it's even going to be a boxing match - I think it is a bare knuckle brawl.

And once this is over - the challenges will keep on coming from mad old-timers from all over the world - sooner or later, John Fury will have to reject the challenges that come his way - which is outrageous in his 'culture'.

I thought we were talking about actual Boxing matches. These bareknuckle clowns. They can have that sh*t.

You know who the best Bareknuckle boxer in the world is?

You don't?

Probably because it doesn't matter.

It's not a boxing match as we know it - it's a bare knuckle brawl, the reason it's on here because it is the dad of the heavyweight champ who is taking part (who was a former domestic standard pro heavyweight...)

And it was John Fury who insisted it on being 'gypsy rules'

As for me, any boxer who goes in and has a go gets my respect - Eric Sutherland, Zelenoff, Rufus - yup, even them - boxing has a history of triers of all shapes, sizes and abilities.

I'd give at least a little respect to most anyone that ever tried it.

Zelenoff is probably the one exception as he lost by running out of the ring the minute that an absolute loser started fighting him back poorly.

The Zelenoff/Hartley fight is the only Boxing match I've ever watched where I wind up thinking "I could kick both of these guys asses, back to back"

Anything from 3 upwards probably. Could get a decent holiday for the family for that. Anything lower would be a waste of time with all the training etc... Mind you during this lockdown i'd probably fight the big cuunt for nothing if he looked at me the wrong way  I'm cracking up
