Klitschkos vs Deontay Wilder

Post by zuru »

I didn't want to repeat a thread and searched so if it's been done sorry.

I see both Klitschkos ko'ing Wilder in an easy fight.

Wlad outboxing him to an 8th rd stoppage and Vitali hammering away til the referee or his corner stop around the 6th rd.

Vitali definitely beats him, probably by wide decision.

Young wlad would stop him early.
'prime' cautious wlad still is a significant favorite, but he could get blitzed. 70/30.

I used to like Wilder in both of these, but the more I went back and watched him the more I realized that he is actually himself a very tentative and sometimes nervous fighter, just that he has those fantastic bursts of power. I used to think he'd go right at slappy Vit and cut him up but now not so sure

Vs Wlad it would be a hugely tentative fight with both able to ktfo the other, I'll say Wilder gets to Wlad first

Yeah I had the same thing in mind with Wlad. This is one matchup where he'd be better off with his more aggressive approach like when he was younger. Being cautious would do him no favors against Wilder, because Wilder is quicker and more explosive.

Depending on the opponent the latter cautious approach probably did work better, but Wilder is one where it'd be better to be aggressive.

Certainly worked out better for Fury.

Works better to protect his chin. Cautious wlad would be much worse off against a guy who can fight inside. Frazier would have battered him.

Both would outbox and wear him down by the later rounds, where Wilder would be stopped. Yeah, Wlad's shaky chin could cause problems, but that would most likely not happen, as Wilder needs a lot of time to set the target and he would be worn down by that moment.
