mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Bring on Tyson-Foreman !
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Seems like every few years there's talk about Tyson fighting exhibitions again..I wouldn't read much into it
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
I actually watched the one time he had an exhibition bout.
I wouldn't bother watching another Exhibition bout no matter who was involved.
A friendly sparring session does not make for entertaining viewing.

Never have, I'll make an exception if the one Morales is proposing for charity with Marco happens.
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Yeah, those are two guys where you'd imagine somewhere along the way it'd stop being friendly, and start being a real fight.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑27 Apr 2020, 18:47Never have, I'll make an exception if the one Morales is proposing for charity with Marco happens.
I honestly would be shocked if Morales didn't start really laying into him

Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
They both would, probably be a war within 20 seconds.
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
I'm sure Barrera knows this too, which is why being the more level headed of the two he'll probably turn down Morales' offer for a "charity" bout. He probably sees through it that it's really just Erik trying to get another piece of him
It'll never be over for Erik.

Erik's been buying and handing out food with his full salary for a few months. I think it's genuine, but with those two it would go right out the window.gilgamesh wrote: ↑27 Apr 2020, 20:40I'm sure Barrera knows this too, which is why being the more level headed of the two he'll probably turn down Morales' offer for a "charity" bout. Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Is there still bad blood and animosity between the two? I thought I seen something recently that they were "friends"..I'd watch a fourth meeting
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Even if they've kinda squashed their beef, I can't imagine if they share a ring together for whatever reason the fact that Barrera is officially 2-1 over Morales, and Morales can't f*cking stand it will lead to him popping Barrera.
Might be the first exhibition bout in history that gets stopped after 1 or 2 rounds because the spirit of the whole thing has gotten out of hand

Looks like Tyson is having his midlife crisis.
He claims that he is now in the best shape he has ever been in his life.
He had no stamina twenty years ago, what makes him think 15 years of lounging around will change that?
I suppose as long as it's only exhibitions he's talking about, then that's fine, but I would even doubt he can manage that these days.

Might just be pumped cause of the heavyweights. The div is stacked. Also, he is a fighter and same goes for some of those other glory hungry bastards like Holmes who ranted about whooping everybody or something.
Have no clue if he gonna fight some clubfighters or what. Strange sport overall, weird, stupid, bloody, humbling and plain locco. Boxers are crazy bastards.

In all seriousness, you wanna know a big money novelty match they missed out on?Syntax Error wrote: ↑28 Apr 2020, 06:48 Looks like Tyson is having his midlife crisis.

Say around 2005 or 2006 when he was clearly on his last legs. Some promoter shouldve just went ahead and had Tyson vs Butterbean. I mean sure it would've been a circus, but I think it would've been a big drawing fight actually.
Butterbean for whatever reason always seemed able to catch the attention of the public, and a fight with him and Tyson to end Tyson's career could've been a surprisingly decent selling Pay Per View I'll bet.
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
Yeah, why didn't that happen? Tyson and Butterbean would have jumped at the money. Hell, people paid money to see an exhibition between Tyson and Corrie Sanders (the black C.S.).gilgamesh wrote: ↑28 Apr 2020, 13:37In all seriousness, you wanna know a big money novelty match they missed out on?Syntax Error wrote: ↑28 Apr 2020, 06:48 Looks like Tyson is having his midlife crisis.

I was one of the 20 or 30 that paid for Holmes/butter bean.
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
I was tempted by it.
I'm sure Tyson vs Butterbean would've done at least 100K buys. It wouldn't have broken any records or nothing, but I'll bet it could've been a profitable circus type fight.

Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
I think he is testing the waters. If he can generate a big benefactor to put up say 10m to 20m I can see it coming off. If he looks good I can see the machine begin rolling to him fighting Fury. Saudia Arabia put up big money for WWE for the WWE to bring in nostalgia acts. They could easily put up a 500m purse with minimum of 200m to each.
Re: mike tyson returning to the ring for exhibitions!
I'm not sure if you're serious, but if you think somebody would pay him 10 to 20 Million dollars for an exhibition bout you're out of your mind.workratemidget wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 00:45 I think he is testing the waters. Well now that the belts are no longer in the US and will not be for some time ..
This should interest those who love the " glory days "

Can't be serious. 10-20m for an exhibition at 53? And making a run at Tyson Fury ??workratemidget wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 00:45 I think he is testing the waters.
