Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
A kick in the cock is a kick in the cock whoever it is. If I faced Daniel Cormier in a street fight and there wasn't a dustbin lid available, I'd boot him so hard in the gonads that he'd end up spitting them out....
Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
Not going to land a punch vs elite wrestler. Too low and way too fast when going for the legs. I agree with you.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 12:20Land a punch or get his ass kicked. We're talking elite wrestlers too, even average guys like myself could easily take down guys with no experience.

He'd catch your leg and slam you on your ass.

Someone like prime Tyson would catch lightning in a bottle a time or two out of 100.oogiebe wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 12:31Not going to land a punch vs elite wrestler. Too low and way too fast when going for the legs. I agree with you.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 12:20

Of course. Nothing is 100%, but boxers aren't equiped to punch someone who is shooting below their waist. Lightening in a bottle is a perfect definition of the chance. A lower level boxer has none.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 12:33Someone like prime Tyson would catch lightning in a bottle a time or two out of 100.

Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
Are we talking now or in prime, because Liddell is totally shot and very chinny, as evidenced by his final fight.
Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
If they fought now I'd favor Liddell. Hell shot ain't even the word for 'em now. They're long retired, old men. Tyson is longer retired so Chuck would probably have an edge. I'm sure it was meant as a both at their best question.polecateddy wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 12:41 Are we talking now or in prime, because Liddell is totally shot and very chinny, as evidenced by his final fight.

Or why not a prime Tyson vs a prime Karelin?

I could always dig up some crazy bastard from history! I throw in Seleucus Nictor!
Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
Many years ago, I witnessed a tall lanky 150lb wrestler team mate at a college party totally beat the piss out of a huge football player, about the size and build of AJ. After getting knocked down with a slap, he took the big guy down, tied him up with his legs and wailed away. A second football player, after I failed to hold him back, tackled my skinny friend off of the guy and was submitted via front headlock shortly after by the 150lber. Passed out. He wasn't even an elite wrestler. It all happened in 2-3 minutes.oogiebe wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020, 12:31Not going to land a punch vs elite wrestler. Too low and way too fast when going for the legs. Onetimeonly, oogiebe and others are absolutely correct as I already pointed out. In an MMA match a good wrestler will almost always take down a striker that doesn't know much about wrestling. As Gene LeBell, a legendary fight figure who had feet in both the wrestling and boxing worlds, once pointed out to me, picture the world's best boxer in the ring against an average NFL (American football) linebacker. When the bell rings, is that linebacker capable of just dashing across the ring and tackling the boxer before the boxer can land his one knockout punch? The answer is usually going to be yes. From there, it's very difficult to box while laying flat on your back.
Like I also stated, a streetfight's different than an MMA or boxing match. Liddell still has a wider variety of skills to fall back on but Tyson (or any 130 pound street punk who knows nothing about boxing or MMA for that matter) can always pull a weapon and that changes everything. A boxer will win at boxing, an MMA fighter will win at MMA and you should generally just stay out of streetfights altogether.

If somebody runs at you like that. Then it just aim for the eyes and blinded the bastard with your keys or whatever you can get your hands on.mjaco wrote: ↑30 Apr 2020, 08:56 Onetimeonly, oogiebe and others are absolutely correct as I already pointed out. Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
Around the time that the Ali-Inoki farce was being promoted, a college wrestling coach said i an interview that many college wrestlers would easily break Ali in half on the street. I believe that and I'd take Liddell over Tyson.
Re: Chuck Liddell vs Mike Tyson
You've got to be a fool to street fight these days. A lot of tough guys out there but you never know what they might be hiding. No one is bullet proof.
