Covid and the Effect on Domestic Boxing

Post by Alba »

Once the Lockdown is over, how soon do you see small hall shows back up and running? Given social distancing might be around for a while, I would imagine it would.be a nightmare to put together logistically

Some issues I see
Seating having to be a few meters apart ?would this not make it hard to manage
Home and away changing rooms ?
Corners ?

Those are just the ones I think of when it comes to logistically putting a show and the current climate

Listening to Bunce & Costello this week, they read out a statement from the BBBoC and it suggested that they’d give the NHS some breathing space before recommencing after lockdown.

Don’t think boxing in venues will resume until next year when there’s a vaccine. There’ll be studio fights, probably from September

Looks like Scott Fitzgerald couldn't wait for a good domestic tear up :maybe:

What happened there? I’ve been off this forum and off Twitter, I’m out the loop. When I come back here to check up again, I’m usually disappointed

Fighters advised to be 2 metres apart. Some guys just can’t deal with that style change.

According to the BBBoC boxing will resume in july but initially it will be without spectators.

This is actually interesting as where will fights take place? There is no need to hire out the 02 or other arenas so boxing could actually take place in a gym or small gym hall if only cameras are going to be present.
