The best way to get good at fighting is to do it and train in it, not to lift weights
Undeniably. If you want to get good at fighting, fight. But let's take Eddie hall for example... hes spent years working the doors, getting into real scrapes without rules of referees. Hes owned a security firm etc. Hes been glassed. The assumption he can't fight cos he's never actively competed in a combat sport in misguided.

But your point stands that anyone can get chinned, and fighting is the best prep for learning how to figh t (saying that, outside the ring where distance is lost in a heart beat, the skills transference of sporting attributes isn't as great as most believe it to be)

A lot of these bodybuilder/powerlifter-types "push" their punches. I wonder how hard they hit.
Never sparred anybody with that body type.

Ya and look what happens to him vs random charity match opponent. That said I'd pick him over the mountain dude who can't take even a jab, Ed at least takes his knocks and has done some better sparring and obviously has the experience of that exhibition

Respectfully I think we are talking at cross purposes, I struggle to see your point here mate. I thought we were discussing a real fight A) that's under sport conditions with pillows on and a ref B) it's a charity exhibition with zero intent. C) with the tamest of pushes or shrugs he's sending that guy (who's not small) flying over the other side of the ring 7.40sec. Imagine if he could follow up with a size ten to the head?

You posted a vid of Edster smashing the pads, so I simply posted a vid show him vs an actual opponent, that's all :TU:

on yeah I get you. It's harder when the targets moving and hitting back lol. 7.40 tho, look how the opponent is swatted. It will be interesting to see how he moves now he's not competing in strongman and with some boxing specific training under his belt.

Cant grab cloths in MMA though. If you happened to fight thor in winter with a jacket on and he somehow managed to get a handfull of it, thats when your realy fucked. He could litraly just swing and average sized human like pingpong paddle and just bounce you of every hard surface near by. The ragdolling could be next levle.

Exactly. The size difference is like an average sized fella Vs a 10yr old boy.

He's not another Dolph Lundgren is he, rubbish at real boxing?
Dolph has a 1-1 record and got kod in his last fight, although his first win was pretty conclusive. :D
But seriously when did dolph ever box?

I feel like they'd both be better suited to having an MMA match instead of boxing due to their strength. It would be interesting to see them in grappling exchanges.

I think they both know that with there limmited boxing skill it will be fairly safe ( "safe" considering its 2 of the strongest men in the world punching each other in the head) But MMA would be a mess, people this size untrained potentialy going for takedowns/slams, Thats too much force, not worth it for a fuk around fight.

It will go against their strongman training instincts as they will be looking to lose weight here. Surely after 2 rounds (if that) they will be blowing out their arses if they come in at 450lbs plus.

Didn’t the polish dude ex strongest man Marius fight in MMA? How did he get on I don’t know
21 fights and 13 wins according to his wiki.

Oli Thompson is another strongman who turned to MMA.

Good record. Guys that big just can’t swing a proper punch. Their lats are so big they can’t really move properly
Their fighting weights are significantly less than their strongman weights. Oli Thompson was relatively small as at strongman at around 127kg, he now fights under 93kg. Pudz was around 142kg (and ripped!) In strongman and fights at 117kg.

He had some good early wins but then eventually he got found out because he had no gas tank so he'd be really dangerous for the first minute and then after that he'd be on the verge of having a heart attack.

True lol. Someone would probably end up being snapped in half in an MMA match.

I thought Dolph looked good considering his age and that his opponent was actually a fighter, most of what you see in celebrity boxing is a lot worse
