Valuev was meassured 211 cm in the eveneing after the dominguezfight in german tv…

I saw a Picture of Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury. I woud have thought the difference woud be bigger. Id say if mike is 5-10 than Fury is Maybe 6-7 or something.

Yeah I think he's a good inch or two shorted than his billed height. 6'7" sounds about right to me.

Didn't see him dwarfing Wilder at all tbh, even with chunky shoes. Next thing he'll be taller than Valuev :oo

Wilder looks like he's got little heels on there. It actually looks like he's wearing women's shoes

Based on that though, id say Fury is about 6"8 though.
Judging by that photo, not much difference in height. I’d say they’re both 6’7ish.

Syntax Error wrote: 30 Apr 2020, 15:42 There does seem to be a massaging of height figures of the rich & famous, particularly sports people.

For example, Mike Tyson's height was always over estimated & he was commonly listed as 5' 11.5", when in reality, he is about 5' 9" approximately.

Saying that, I always believed Tyson Fury to be his listed height.

A good barometer would be to see him up close with Vitali, who is 6' 8": There must be pictures of the two of them in close proximity as Fury fought Wladimir.
Tyson is taller than 5’9. More like 5’10 at least. Vitali is legitimate 6’7 and Fury is about the same. He is nowhere near 6’9.
Well, I speak anecdotally.

When he came to Manchester 20 years ago to fight Francis, I was stood yards away from him when he came out of the Midland Hotel and I felt that he wasn't even as tall as me by a smidgen.

I am 5" 10", but to be fair, I was wearing Caterpillar boots and he was wearing trainers, so it's hard to be precise.

I believe him to be in the 5' 9" - 5' 10" range.

Fury is about Mike Tyson's height which is why they named him after him.
As you can see in this picture Iron Mike is tallerImage

You can see that fury is exactly same height as wilder and not taller, look at 2 inches high heel shoe that he is wearing.

It was obvious to everyone who remembered Valuev at 6ft 11 inch who weighted close to 320-342LBS range,
looked lot bigger and taller than fury.

Thank you. This is perfect photo shot from distance and direct angle. Tyson fury in high heel shoe
while Deonty in nearly flat heel.
Dad they wore same kind of shoe, they looked exact height. So i was wrong, Fury is less than 6ft 7.5inches ....6ft 7inch to be exact.
I wouldn't say Wilder is in almost flat heels there, looking properly at them he's got a decent sized heel on those shoes, (slightly hidden by their colour blending in). His heel is about 2/3rds of the one Fury has. I'd say allowing for the top of Fury's head being hidden in that cap etc, they're probably pretty much same height, Fury is maybe a small touch taller. Personally I'd say the actual in ring footage, with equal sized heels, bears that out.

EDIT: In fact drawing a line across there is actually very little difference between top of Wilders' heel and top of Fury's heel. Fury's stand out more as they're an obvious colour whereas Wilder's are hidden by the colour. (Sorry for being an uber nerd on that).

Every time Haye said Valuev was 7'2" my dislike for him intensified.

Valuev's acromegaly made his proportions different though: he had an absolutely enormous head. Wilder and Fury are all arms and legs in comparison.

I always wondered whether Valuev would look like a weird little hairy flabby guy next to somebody like Yao Ming or that bouncer dude, Calvin Lane, who was photographed next to a very uncomfortable looking shaq. (

Mike Tyson was a solid 5ft 11" ( not sure for 5ft 11.5")and because of spinal injuries which many people haven't heard of, he has lost some height.
when you are that short and bit hunched back and thick as silverback gorilla, of course you look short to everyone from distance.

links on Tyson having fought with back injury and having spinal surgery ...could be also good reason why tyson never made a come back and he was losing to midicore opponents in his last 3 fights

As a boxing nerd Wilder has steps in his shoes in that photo, just by the way his legs are leaning forward. Fury's got his big trainers and his stupid cap on but... The fight has just come around in my Youtube recommended again. Watch when Kenny Bayliss is giving instructions when they properly face off before the fight starts.

Fury is taller, and Wilder looks like he knows it too.

I saw the tallest kid in my old school today when I was buying wine. We were in the same class. I remember him claiming 7' and thinking he was full of shit, but as two ageing men when I saw one of the local youngster scrotes double take him I realised what a monster that kid had grown into. Rugby player, so cauliflower ears, the lot. I had a mask on but he recognised me anyway: two recognisable dudes I guess. We chatted for a bit. Anyway, they measured him at 6'8 in art class when he was 16, so still growing. Gigantic guy. I know it doesn't add anything to the the argument but it's so boring in lockdown it was kind of fun to see an old face.
