I once read a piece about Les Kellet. He was backstage at show waiting for his match up. A stagehand noticed he had a great big infected boil/ulcer/swelling on one of his hands. Apparently it was from a bite from one of Les’ pigs on his farm. Les told the stagehand to stamp on his hand to burst it before his matchup. The stagehand refused, so Les, allegedly, grabbed him and said “Stamp on it! Or I’ll stamp on your head!!!”mercman wrote: ↑01 May 2020, 12:09Apparently a real dirty scruff, lived like an animal in a right shite-tip, body covered in boils, etc. Sounded grim.My Name Is Earl wrote: ↑01 May 2020, 10:58
Les Kellett was a comic genius in the ring. Iv'e still got a few old Belle Vue programmes as the 'ol fella used
to take us on a sat nigh when we were nipperst. Leon Harris was in the drunken grandad Kellett mode whilst Bobby
Barnes had the old dears (75% of the audience) swooning.
What's the bit about Kellett mercman?
Lovely.
