Les Kellett was a comic genius in the ring. Iv'e still got a few old Belle Vue programmes as the 'ol fella used
to take us on a sat nigh when we were nipperst. Leon Harris was in the drunken grandad Kellett mode whilst Bobby
Barnes had the old dears (75% of the audience) swooning.

What's the bit about Kellett mercman?
Apparently a real dirty scruff, lived like an animal in a right shite-tip, body covered in boils, etc. Sounded grim.
I once read a piece about Les Kellet. He was backstage at show waiting for his match up. A stagehand noticed he had a great big infected boil/ulcer/swelling on one of his hands. Apparently it was from a bite from one of Les’ pigs on his farm. Les told the stagehand to stamp on his hand to burst it before his matchup. The stagehand refused, so Les, allegedly, grabbed him and said “Stamp on it! Or I’ll stamp on your head!!!”
Lovely.

Who was that Yorkshire pig farmer who played rugby league professionally. Think
he played for Halifax. Good player.
And there was an Aussie player who trained by wrestling wild boar. Names gone :brick:

Did he have a farm mickey? Was thinking Karl Harrison but might be miles away.

Sticking with the wrestling theme, Huddersfield's Eorl Crabtee was a nephew of
Big Daddy.

Is the interest really there? Maybe John's just thinking, 'just let me quietly get on with my life'

Theo respectively offered a charity fight in the ring with gloves.

First Fury said he wanted it on the cobbles, then said because of his record he had to do it in the ring and it seems to be agreed.

Then Theo said Fury nor his agent were answering the phone.

Now Theo isn't worthy to fight in the ring and Fury is looking to fight Mike Tyson.

But the only opportunity for Theo is to come to Fury's back garden today!

Is Fury genuinely trying to raise the stakes? Or is he looking for a way out by offering something unrealistic?

There is a good chance Mike Tyson has no interest, I doubt John contacted him first, and Theo's original boxing offer stands but can't make it to John's garden at 20 minutes notice!

Nevertheless it would be a way out, if neither Tyson or Theo turned up!

Comedy gold that. Another one for the highlight reel.

Seems a tad unrealistic from Fury and he is coming across as not wanting the fight.

He doesn't want it then. Fight in my back garden or on another gypsy site....that's fair. Yes genuinely bottled it but his culture won't let him how out gracefully

But why should Fury bottle it? Surely he’s not afraid of this Theo chump?
He’d smash him inside or outside the ring. Maybe he’s protecting his sons who are both enjoying some fame...?

So it’s basically gone.

‘I’ll fight anyone born from their mother.’

Some ex bodybuilder rocks up and says he will fight you.

‘Yeah I’ll fight you.....errr no wait £250k each, put the money up.’

Bit of silence.

‘No actually I’ll fight you in a lay by.’
