The guys barely a cruiserweight underneath his winter coat yet he has absolutely no fear of AJ. He’s right under his skin and I just love seeing his calm confidence. Watched the gloves off and he’s just a straight up solid guy. AJ was gibbering a load of pish and Ruiz just sat there grinning after calling Joshua a quitter.

He might have body fat issues but he’s a fighter to the soles of his boots.

He would surely be under 200lbs in peak physical condition (and probably unrecognisable) and yet fought brilliantly in spite of his weight, and being there on short notice, on the B-side of what was meant to be a squash match. He doesn't seem able to exert himself in his routine fights, but against Parker and Joshua he was a different beast altogether.

I like him and expect him to figure out Joshua's new game plan fairly quickly and whack him again. Doubt he's going to be a champion for long, but he looks too tough for a chinny bodybuilder with middling ring IQ.

I honestly don't think he makes 200lb, maybe I'm wrong but i dont think he has the genetics to get down there, he's a solid lump of a guy, not sure a ripping 6 pack is ever gonna be his thing.

He is tough as nails though, eating big shots doesn't bother him either, the long right hand AJ slammed on him seconds after dropping Ruiz just bounced right off his face. it's same old story with bullies like AJ, eventually they run into a tough-as-fck fighter at world level with a proper chin that can take a dig... then suddenly they are in deep water. I'm pretty convinced Ruiz will make even easier work of AJ this time, he'll kill him to the body again.

Well, after being basically duped into thinking he had trained by following his camp, I’m pretty embarrassed starting this thread. Now Andy has admitted not training or really taking this fight serious, I feel he disgraced himself in that fight, while Joshua did everything he could.

I get some of the comments on here but for the heavyweight champion of the world to say he should have trained harder is a disgrace - anything can happen in a fight, but lack if effort in training should not ever be a factor

Exactly mate, that’s why I’m so disappointed in the man. He had the world behind him in this, he could have shot to absolute super stardom if he won, in fact even if he didn’t win and just made an effort. Shocking man.
