I stopped TUF after Nate Diaz I think. I might check it out. Tbh I never really heard of Tony till he was fighting in UFC. I honestly think this double weight cut was no good for him.jujigatame wrote: ↑13 May 2020, 17:56If you watched him on TUF it seemed like something could definitely be wrong with him. He oscillated pretty wildly between no-nonsense silent type and massive shit-starting asshole.

It did 700k buys on ESPN+.
Re: MMA
Joins a long list of UFC fights that have went on far too long. I'd like to see cornermen/refs/doctors fined for dereliction of duty in some of these fights. A blind man could see Smith was gone after r3, disgrace that went to a fifth.

It seems the biggest difference without fans is refs just watching guys get butchered. This was worse than Ferguson

They either go on too long (blame has to be on the corner as well) or they get stopped too quick like in Cejudo-Cruz.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑14 May 2020, 01:00 It seems the biggest difference without fans is refs just watching guys get butchered. This was worse than Ferguson

Don't disagree, but Ferguson and Smith went way too longBaby Face Finster wrote: ↑14 May 2020, 08:41They either go on too long (blame has to be on the corner as well) or they get stopped too quick like in Cejudo-Cruz.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑14 May 2020, 01:00 It seems the biggest difference without fans is refs just watching guys get butchered. Re: MMA
This makes me question how much Jon Jones has slipped. Jones didn't come close to inflicting as much damage on Smith as Teixeira did.
Re: MMA
Not seen the fight but Glover was apologizing to Smith, saying it was just part of the job. Smith acknowledged him saying it is what it is.

It was uncomfortable, especially since I went into the fight knowing the extent of Smith’s facial injuries.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑14 May 2020, 23:44I'd advise against watching it, ugly stuff. Much worse than Ferguson.

He's slipped a lot. I think it's been several years since drugs, booze, and strippers became a higher priority for him than training.Baby Face Finster wrote: ↑14 May 2020, 08:54 This makes me question how much Jon Jones has slipped. I like Gaetjhe a lot as a fighter but he's been taken down a few times now by guys of a lower calibre than Khabib in the wrestling department.dazzler wrote: ↑13 May 2020, 04:03Gaethje has a strong wrestling background but uses it to avoid take-downs (very very well) and fights mainly with boxing and leg kicks. For most of his career he has been an exciting slugger, arguing that a fighters career is short, and better to perform in front of huge crowds making PPV money and win bonuses than having a safety first career. When he moved to the UFC he had back to back losses against Alvarez and Poirier and seemed to have maybe reached his limit, but then he dialled back the face first aggression and started to improve again. How good is he? Good enough to fight for the title. Can he beat Khabib? Well he has the right style to do so, but Khabib's grappling and pressure is other wordly and I think the champ will start as favourite.

Re: MMA
Gaethje has really improved his striking. He's still exciting af but he's intelligent with it aswell now and actually looks to avoid being hit, whereas before he just didn't seem to give a shit.
On a side note though and this might be an unpopular opinion but I think that Conor would clean out both Gaetjhe and Poirier again if they fought. I think he's too technical for both.

You know what, i think im going to take that advice mate. I quite like Smith.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑14 May 2020, 23:44I'd advise against watching it, ugly stuff. Much worse than Ferguson.
Watched the post fight comments of Chael and Luke Thomas, and both were visibly emotional on the topic of Smith. Sonnen was bloody furious. He seemed of the opinion that had the 5th been finished, it would have been three consecutive 10-8 rounds, which is unheard of. As for intervention..... both seemed to lay a little more responsibility at his corner, which in general is something ive felt strongly about for some time.
Yep, i dont think this is something i need to see.
