Carl Frampton V's Jamel Herring

Post by revpickles »

It's a fight I want to see!
Albert Bell was pencilled in yesterday to fight Jamel Herring at the MGM Grand in July and his names now been removed!

Could Carl Frampton be getting ready to Rumble, it's a great fight and he's got a good following in the USA...
Imagine Warrington V Stevenson on the same card!
Now that would be fireworks!

Not sure Frampton having a 'good following in the US' is a factor as I doubt they will be allowed to sell tickets in July.

Herring will probably fight a bit of a trading water fight in July, Frampton will wait until crowds are allowed back in before returning to the ring.

I can see them getting it on towards the end of the year.

Frampton big in USA? He’s not even big in uk lol. But if they want to promote him in the states all they have to do is call him ‘Irish’ Carl Frampton and put the fight in New York or Boston...
Yeah, I'm not sure how 'big' he is in the US, I know he sold a lot of tickets for the Santa Cruz fights, but how many of them travelled from Northern Ireland? Most, I assume.

Personally I think he could/should have been much bigger profile after the 2 Santa Cruz fights, especially if they'd made the 3rd fight a big issue but despite the Donaire and Warrington fights his career seemed to stagnate in the period it should have gone up another level in terms of publicity. (But then look at Warrington, efficient world champion, probably the best at the weight and I'd say he's not really as well known either).

Jamel Herring did some commentary on Fite.tv Saturday night while Shawn Simpson 12-0 and Desmond Jarmon 9-0 fought and talked about his upcoming fight.
