Another attribute was his physical strength (going into Mickey mode here) a pro Middleweight mate of mine from Leeds went down to Brighton to spar with him for the second Benn fight, he said he was stronger than most Lightheavies/Cruisers he'd sparred with.

Whp lknows. He might be a completely different fighter altogether.Reddish Vale wrote: ↑30 May 2020, 13:22 Don't be obtuse, it was a simple question, do you think Fury would be as effective if he was more 'normally' proportioned ?

Re: Unpopular opinions
It's hard to get a read on Fury still. How good is he? i don't think we know. He might have got flattened by Haye. He might have handled Haye. He might have been obliterated by Lewis. He might have befuddled a tentative Lewis. He just showed a complete change of tactics and destroyed Wilder on the front foot. I'm open to the idea that he's far better than I thought, or as bad as I think he is. I still don't know. Wilder isn't exactly the second coming of Riddick Bowe. Klitschko fought a cowardly fight.

Re: Unpopular opinions
Chris John legit beat Juany Marquez, just easy to dismiss as a robbery because it happened in Indonesia. People like Dan Rafael were calling it a robbery before actually watching the fight
Re: Unpopular opinions
Alex Arthur would have beaten Gomez if he had a proper trainer/training camp.
Hank Rawren is the greatest promoter ever.
Mayweather struggled a bit with McGregor.
Alex Arthur is Ken Buchanan's illegitimate son (just look at photo's of them in their twenties).
UFC is far more interesting than boxing.

Re: Unpopular opinions
I have lot of them
- Chris Eubank jr is underrated. Ive had him winning against Saunders.
- Terrence Crawford will retire undefeated, he can beat everybody under 160
- Canelo Alvarez won against Lara, won against GGG rematch close but decisively.
- Lomachenko is not overrated, but his resume is. Wasting 2 prime years on Pedraza, Crolla and Campbell is just awful.
- black boxing fans will never really root for white boxer
- boxing trainers are overrated at top level, underrated at lower level
- Tyson Fury beatdown of WIlder was best event in heavyweight boxing since 90s era
- being caught on roids is not a big deal, everybody is on roids, not everybody got caught
- Ray Leonard defeat Marvin Hagler close, but decisively (and i am biggest Hagler fan)
- amateur boxers are heavily underrated, and i am not talking only olympic medalists and world champs, if i was promoter i would hunt those fighters to pro ranks
- with punchers, people tend to underrate their boxing skill
- Anthony Joshua is bigger threat for Tyson Fury than Wilder. On the other hand, WIlder is everything bad for Joshua
- I was telling Adam Kownacki is heavily overrated, but everybody saw that already
- UFC is already more popular than boxing. And i am sad from this
- Golovkin decision to take his career to USA was good decision despite everybody avoided him. Spending his prime years in Germany will end up much worse
- Mayweather was able to end McGregor in 5 rounds, he was just toying with him and even let him to hit him
- undefeated records are thing that ruin boxing too, borers are obessed with that
- boxing is best sport in world, but 90% of boxing fans are trash.
- BOXREC FORUM is probably only place in world where you can inteligently talk about sport of boxing, users know a lot about the sport despite very few of them are or was boxers

Mayweather 2020 would beat Loma 2020 at 147 lbs or 154.

He could and should have moved a lot faster and didn't fight at the top level enough when he finally made it there.handsofstone wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 03:23I don't know Brook does take some stick, maybe it's his record

Spence, Porter and Golovkin is 3 great names to have on the slate, but I agree with you. Re: Unpopular opinions
Definitely, I do think 2 things played a part. Firstly he should have been fighting at light middle. Looking at him v Golovkin that was not a chunked up welter, he looked like a guy who could certainly be a natural at 154 and maybe 160. For me the performance v Golovkin would have beaten all bar him and Alvarez at either weight. Secondly he's spent so long waiting on Khan, he should have just called his bluff and said do it now or I move on. Again just my opinion but I think he's got the speed, skills and power to level Khan within 6 rounds. I wonder if that kept him at welter far too long (obviously the holiday incident etc didn't help).
