Holmes would outbox Morrison in a cautious way. Possibly Morrison would tire later enough for Holmes to sharpen and score the stoppage win.

Prime Holmes by K.O. In the 90's it would have been a terrific fight.

A Prime Larry Holmes would annoy and frustrate the Duke behind his legendary left jabs and left-right combinations before stopping him in 6 rounds. The 90s Larry Holmes would out-box the Duke for either a decision win or late round stoppage.

In his prime Holmes would control Morrison, and stop him in 6 or 7 rounds.

In the 90's when the fight actually could have taken place I think it would've been a close decision that could've went either way assuming Morrison was up and properly trained for the fight. I think he would be with a name like Holmes.

In the 90s I'd favor Morrison, if he was prepared like for Foreman.

In their primes not even close. Holmes mid fight stoppage. Shutout till then.

Larry all the way. It is not even close. Larry by easy decision. He was in a different and better league than Tommy. His ring generalship and o that left jab would keep Tommy at bay throughout the fight.

And I think he would've been. Fighting a former World Champion should be enough to motivate you. It was for him when he fought George, I think it would've been again for Larry.

Would've still been a close contest, but yeah he could've won it in the 90's.

Prime for prime. Fuhget about it.

Prime for prime, it will be Larry Holmes. Different league. Different class.

Yeah, George and Larry sure were similar. He fought a very disciplined fight running away for 12 RDS, not a strategy that would be successful against Holmes who told ray Mercer "I ain't no Tommy Morrison" during that schooling.

As if Morrison's loss to Mercer is somehow descriptive in this case. Well, sure, if Morrison would go at Holmes in the same way, he did against Mercer, he would gas out as well. If he boxed against Mercer like against Foreman, he would win Mercer. Both Morrison and Holmes were just better boxers, than Mercer. Ray's win over Morrison is more dependant on Mercer's chin and durability, than on anything else. Yes, Holmes still was better than Foreman, but still Morrison could handle him.

For me: Prime v Prime = one sided for Holmes. Old Holmes v Prime Morrison = 50-50. Don't see a realistic scenario where you can favour Morrison.
