Ike Ibeabuchi vs Bob Fitzimmons
How does the president do vs the former HW champ?
Re: Ike Ibeabuchi vs Bob Fitzimmons
Ike in about 30 seconds-including the 10 count.

Buchi gets him but not quite in 30 seconds
Re: Ike Ibeabuchi vs Bob Fitzimmons
The first ever 3 weight World Champion back when that feat was basically unheard of vs the guy who's best known for a great fight with David Tua in a fight where I didn't think he deserved the nod.
Put me down for Fitz.

How much you think Fitz would weigh for the fight? He was 167 when he won hw title vs 184 pound Corbett and ranged mostly from 150-170. You think he would take it to the bigger man and overwhelm him with his awesome power? He was mostly a puncher wasnt he.
I thought Ike beat Tua and also that the Byrd destruction was his best win. Great feat definitely for Fitz to win 3 weight titles, though not sure that beating 147 and 158 pounders for titles is too relevant to this matchup, I imagine Ibeabuchi would beat up welterweights and middleweights too.
Re: Ike Ibeabuchi vs Bob Fitzimmons
Fitz can be a more accomplished, but this is just another notorious era comparison. Fitz was just small and not that technically advanced. He would have almost no chances against Ibeabuchi type of a fighter in his actual version. And we can only assume, how Fitz would have looked like, if he would compete in the 90s.

President by KO 3

I'm not gonna give a guy who's most famous for throwing his career away credit for a fight he never proved he'd be capable of winning.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Jun 2020, 04:48How much you think Fitz would weigh for the fight? So how you think Fitz would approach this fight in the ring?
Re: Ike Ibeabuchi vs Bob Fitzimmons
Not sure. I'd imagine he'd target the body a lot on an opponent who's so much bigger. Try to wear him down.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Jun 2020, 14:23 So how you think Fitz would approach this fight in the ring?
More importantly, he'd make it to the fight by not raping somebody and going to Prison before it started. Can't say the same for Ike.

Ike had some good wins, we are talking about 1 night not who could sustain a longer career, Ike's rape is irrelevant really, just pick the dude at the best we saw him.
Re: Ike Ibeabuchi vs Bob Fitzimmons
The best I saw him was like I said a fight where IMO he should've lost to David Tua.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Jun 2020, 15:27 Ike had some good wins, we are talking about 1 night not who could sustain a longer career, Ike's rape is irrelevant really, just pick the dude at the best we saw him.
I'm not gonna give him credit for potentially beating an All Time Great when he never proved himself to have the ability or the discipline required to do so.

I thought he beat Tua but looked better when he destroyed Bird. What you're talking about is discipline for a sustained career, here is just 1 night at their best. Ibeabuchi showed himself to be a tough dude who fought hard at his best.
TBF, did Fitz ever prove he could beat a world class 235 pounder? You mention his titles, but those came vs 147, 158, and 184

Fitz proved himself to be twice the fighter and the man Ike Ibeabuchi ever was.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑13 Jun 2020, 15:33 I thought he beat Tua but looked better when he destroyed Bird.
