Black lives matter receives zero money from the Soros foundation I'm afraid either.

There's plenty of people claiming that they do, but without a shred of, well, you know.....evidence.
"Black Lives Matter has received funding from the Open Society Foundations"

"Open Society Foundations (OSF), formerly the Open Society Institute, is an international grantmaking network founded by business magnate George Soros"

"Liberal funders such as George Soros, Rob McKay, and other Democracy Alliance donors have given millions of dollars to groups associated with the movement, which have in total raked in over $133 million."

What's the source? A bit meaningless if it's just an opinion.

It says 'groups associated with the movement' too, again rather vague.

I'm more than happy to be proven wrong if there's credible evidence.

On further reading, that's lifted from an article by the Capital Research Centre, and the only 'evidence' of Soros having funded BLM, is an opinion piece, by the washington times, which is a right wing ultra conservative mouthpiece, known for very poor journalistic standards, and spreading blatant falsehoods.

Richardson, Valerie. “Black Lives Matter cashes in with $100 million from liberal foundations.” The Washington Times. August 16, 2016. Accessed August 31, 2017. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... eral-foun/ ^

If that's your 'evidence' then the bar is set very low indeed.

It's simply not true.

Soros worked for 2 whole days for the Jewish council in Hungary, as a 13 year old boy. His father stopped him when he realised that the messages he carried were assisting the deporation of jews.

You'll have to try harder.

Well why trust one source and not another? Anyways if you believe that super rich bankers and powerful people do not deliberately push movements / fund them / manipulate the masses then you probably also belive there are WMDs in Iraq, Jimmy Saville was a charitable Saint, Epstein was a legitimate billionaire banker (with no experience), that a man living in a cave underground in Afghanistan organised and brought down the twin towers , that freemasonry is just a bit of fun, despite their symbol being on the US currency blatantly, that a local weirdo whacked Jill Dando for no reason etc etc. If you wanna belive our press is ‘free’ and ‘truthful’ do that as well. If you wanna belive that Soros is a philanthropist amd has no hand In manipulative the masses please do.

Who knows what the actual truth as everything is so obscured but if you think BLM is a random, organic street organisation Than that’s you’re prerogative
Well, some sources are more reliable than others - that's just reality. Anybody can publish things without veryfying the facts and presenting the evidence, it's sloppy journalism at best , and deliberate misinformation at worst.

I would trust actual evidence. Opinion isn't evidence.

There's just too many conspiracies here to address for me to have the energy.

Of course super rich people have influence, but Soros is just the boogieman for the far right.

They were all off wiki!

In his defence off Politifact/Factchecks

"The claim that George Soros funded the Ferguson protests and Black Lives Matter was checked by Snopes in 2015, and it received a mixed rating. Snopes said that Open Society Foundations has donated $33 million to organizations that have worked with Black Lives Matter or worked to raise awareness during the Ferguson-related protests. "

"The most recent connection they have with the organization is their 2018 grant of $279,860 to Release Leads, a UK organization that mostly focuses on international drug use education and policy reform, but also organizes public speaking events that feature the Black Lives Matter movement in the UK."

That's a little more like it - at least Snopes do actually cite their sources.

So I think it's fair to say however, the idea that BLM is entirely funded by Soros, is not true.

People like to blame Soros for everything, as if none of the grievances are real - it's daft. It's like whack a mole, where the mole is always Soros.

I haven't read anyone claiming that, although you did claim that "Black lives matter receives zero money from the Soros foundation".

Well they don't, not directly. Organisations that have associations isn't the same as BLM being funded by soros' foundation.

You say they don't. Plenty of reports online say they do. If this wasn't true it would not be difficult for one of the richest men in the world to get this removed.

and then what about Branson, O'Leary, Sugar, Green, Musk, Dorsey, Buffett, Gates, Jobs, Zuckerberg, Arnault, Ellison, Bezos... How many of those are advertised as philanthropists, and what do they all have in common...
What do they all have in common?

All are fabulously rich.
All have been extremely successful in their own line of buisiness.
All of them holiday in more exotic places than I do.
All of them have access to the best medical resources.

To be fair - being as rich as they all are I could name at least 1001 things they all have in common that is different from myself and the other 99% of the population.
But I think you are solely interested in that none are black? why is their skin colour more important to you than the other things they all have in common?

“Anthony Joshua Stood at a protest and told people not to invest in white business. He told people to only invest in their own communities. What he should of said is ... Stop smashing up your own communities. He should of said LOOK AT ME! I stand here as a successful black multi millionaire and therefore proof that I am not oppressed by the system. He should have said the only time I ever ran into trouble was when I engaged in drug dealing, criminality and black gang culture. He then could of explained how the system supported him and gave him another chance. He could have explained how this great nation was proud to give him the opportunity to represent them worldwide at the Olympic Games ... he should of explained how by hard work anybody in this country can make it“

Except that simply isn't true. The idea that we're a meritocracy doesn't stand up to any sort of scrutiny.

Like when they deny an alien spacecraft crashed at Roswell and is being held in Area 51, how do they explain enormous technological advances after 1947 if it's not from reverse engineering alien technology? The stealth bomber is actual evidence of alien tech, christ it even looks like it's from another planet.

Because when I see a man engaging in populism for his own ends, any criticism is naturally an ad hominem.

We're not arguing to apologise for things that happened before we were born, but to look at how much more progress could've and should've been made between then and now for the good of all. And that goes beyond race because it's ultimately down to the greed of elites, it's just that race comes into it because the overwhelming majority of those elites are white.

We can't do anything about white injustices from decades back, no, but we've Blair now making millions from speeches after bombing Iraq for his own ego; Clegg now earns millions from Facebook; and then what about Branson, O'Leary, Sugar, Green, Musk, Dorsey, Buffett, Gates, Jobs, Zuckerberg, Arnault, Ellison, Bezos... How many of those are advertised as philanthropists, and what do they all have in common...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Giving_Pledge

Gates and others have pledged to give over a trillion dollars to charity, here's a list of those who have pledged to give at least half their net worth to charitable causes after their death. That has to be worth something. Its more than I will be doing, I imagine.
It looks great on the surface but when you look at what they actually do it's a different story...

A foundation is used to avoid taxes and to buy good will. It's the greatest PR move they can make.

They then use the donations as a way to bribe, coerce and control. If you research something they don't like they pull the funding. If you publish a scientific paper against their business interests they pull the funding. They even actually fund their own spin-off companies (you usually have to dig deep to find the connection but it's almost always there). Making sure they always grab a positive headline because they also buy much of the media.

The turnaround in perception in my lifetime of some of these people is shocking and shows how easily favour is bought and how quickly people forget.
