X2. It would be the first time that I would pick an old timer like the great Jack Johnson to beat Anthony Joshua. Joshua has not shown me nothing yet.

In this fight, size does not matter. Johnson was quite big himself.

Ask me again in about 5 or 6 years when AJ's Boxing legacy is either written or pretty close to being complete.

I personally don't rank Johnson in my All time Heavyweight Top 10. Some people rate him real highly though.

Jack Johnson deserves to be top 5 heavyweight of all time. Hw is one of the most influencial boxers in history. I ranked him at #3 behind Muhammad Ali #1 and Joe Louis #2.

One of the most influential he may be. One of the most accomplished, he is not.

What didn't he accomplished? Let's look at his career.

There's nothing in his era he didn't accomplish, it's just that many fighters accomplished more in there's, and beat better fighters.

That being said, he's sorta like Sonny Liston in that the best of his legacy was BEFORE becoming Heavyweight Champion.

Jack Johnson doesn't deserve even a place in the top 15. He's in top 20 tough.

You make a good point about what a fighter did before he was the champion. Johnson started his career 11 years and was 30 years old before he got a title shot. You have to take a look at his career before then as well. Same with Liston or anyone for that matter.
After Ali and Louis, there are about a half dozen guys who are fairly close and another 5 or so not that far behind them. Johnson is clearly is in the same league as in of them.

In terms of accomplishment, and notoriety in his era he is.

I think quite a few guys were better fighters than him, but admittedly he's so far back in the time capsule just like many others there's little footage of him, and what there is is very grainy.

Pre Ruiz I'd be more unsure about this one, after that I just feel that Johnson's ability to hit without being hit back and his stamina makes him a slight favourite.
