AL GAINER--Light Heavyweight

I'm looking for any information on light heavyweight boxer AL GAINER of New Haven, Connecticut. He fought between 1930 and 1941, and was a contender for the title in 1938. I'd also like information about his manager AL MELE.

Gainer was one of the top light heavyweights of the 30s. Unfortunately he never got a shot at the title, but had he, it's a very good possibility that he would have held the title. The 30s was absolutely full of great light heavyweights and Gainer was right among the best. I have a few pretty good photo's of Gainer and also several newspaper reports for him.
