Both Fighters Failed Drugs Test?
I was just wondering about the Whyte vs. Povetkin fight and how they've both failed drugs tests in the past..
I know Povetkin has pissed off in a few years...
It just got me thinking, has there ever been a time where two fighters, expected to fight each other and they both test positive?
It would be funny (and a pisstake), it let's say Whyte fails another drug test, and then a few days/week later, Povetkin pisses hot too..
Has it ever happened?

I'm sure it's happened post fight, although I can't remember who it was, and the result was made a No Contest.

Well if they both failed, they're both dirty. Even fight (depending on drug).. Should have let the score stand,Greg Houston wrote: ↑29 Jun 2020, 05:28 I'm sure it's happened post fight, although I can't remember who it was, and the result was made a No Contest.
Re: Both Fighters Failed Drugs Test?
One training in Portugal, the other in Russia. In the middle of a global pandemic, does anyone really believe that they've been tested?

Didnt Roy Jones & Richard Hall both fail drug tests but no action was taken???

Jones jnr vs Richard Hall. I’m sure both tested positive and the fight went on. Just from memory so I may be wrong.

Jones always looked like he was on a good amount of errr supplements during his career, no more so than in the Ruiz fight.

Re: Both Fighters Failed Drugs Test?
Both Jones and Hall tested positive for anabolic steroids after the fight. "Jones was five or six times over an acceptable level," said Jacob Hall, who was chairman of the Indiana State Athletic Commission. "Hall was about ten times above an acceptable level." Jones insisted his positive test was the result of ingesting the supplement Ripped Fuel. No penalties or suspensions were issued because Indiana, like many states, had no legal authority to test for steroids. The IBF sent letters to Jones and Hall informing each man that he had tested positive for an unspecified anabolic steroid, but no further action was taken.
It says the results came back after the fight.. obviously taken before the fight.
Literally no action taken.

My memories hazy on thus but I think Clinton Woods said there was no testing in his fight against RJJ. Said it had to move State so they could sh1t can testing to give Roy what he needed.
Re: Both Fighters Failed Drugs Test?
James Toney vs Danny Batchelder in 2007 - both failed a post-fight drugs test. Toney also tested positive for a banned substance after his with John Ruiz in 2005.
A few years later I remember Toney fighting Denis Lebedev on allegedly hosted by Steve Bunce. Bunce's way of addressing Toney's past indiscretions was by putting forward Toney's excuse of taking something for an injured bicep as plausible (for the Ruiz fight) and not mentioning the Batchelder post-fight test at all...(what they don't know can't hurt 'em eh?)
I see he's written something about Jarrell Miller, actually mentions Toney and the Ruiz fight and test, and says nobody really believed Toney was innocent.
No mention of the Batchelder fight.

Yes.
I can kinda see that too. If both guys are juicing then nobody has an advantage.
Really though, it was because Roy was one of the sports bigger stars, and they just looked the other way.
