John Simpson v Paul Appleby....

Was at both their fights. Appleby Surprisingly took a bit of a pasting in the rematch.

Murray v Mitchell. I was rooting more for Murray to be honest.

Though we like both fighters there’s one we want to win more its usually the one we’ve got our money on

Was a right bad ko for Appleby in the second fight! Looked in a bad way. First fight could've went either way.

I think almost all of us were fans of both Gatti and Ward. How can you not love those guys?

I recall a few occasions where one of my older favorites was being fed to one of my younger favorites. You usually hate to see that, but in one of those cases both of my favorites in question done me proud. That fight being Morales vs Maidana. Morales gave a damn fine effort in that one that any fan of his could be proud of.

With Ruslan Provodnikov vs Jose Luis Castillo. I was just glad JLC was getting a solid payday, and hoped he wouldn't get hurt too bad.

There were loads. Just soaking up the action without any preferential leaning's or money down is one of life's
pleasures.

Calzaghe Kessler....Was a Joe fan but wouldn't have been gutted if Kessler had done it.
Eubank Thompson....Eubank by this stage (though i usually supported him anyway) had become a
popular figure due to having some defeats and kudos, for moving up, v's the value for money Thompson.
Kaylor Christie.....The hype got a bit too much but couldn't wait for the bout as liked both fighters styles.
Cowdell Nelson.....Always liked Pat, a more down to earth bloke you couldn't meet, but we were witnessing greatness
in the opposite corner.
Finnegan Conteh....Grew up watching the Finnegan Bros who always left everything and more, in the ring. When Kev
came up against the rightly, highly touted Conteh, we knew the new kid on the block was a genuine world class
talent and there'd be some mega nights coming up for the fans, in the future.
Chris Finnegan Sibson...Loved watching Sibbo, but this was Finnegan's shot at winning the Lonsdale (back when
it meant something). If the 21 year old Sibbo had defended his title fair enough, but the old warhorse winning
was special. I think Hagler called him the toughest guy he'd fought.
Morales Barrera.....Could never seperate them. Loved the pair of 'em.

Not the same thing but I had a dilemma when Wayne Alexander was boxing Takaloo & Carl Thompson was boxing David Haye on the same night but in different parts of London
I was desperate to go to both, but at least both won convincingly !

Hagler vs Hearns was a bit painful (anxiety filled) for me to watch. Loved both fighters and seeing Tommy get smeared wasn't such a good feeling.

Brook v ggg. Always a brook fan and felt tgst ggg was constantly being ducked.

When they fought i suppose i wanted kell to win but thought it would be a disaster for ggg getting beat of a ww.

Anyhow the fight went how you'd have expected. Brook showed he was a classy operator but ggg too big and heavy handed.

LHW around then was hard wasn’t it? Parlov, Muhammad, Finnegan, Conteh etc. Yaqui Lopez probably best boxer to never win a world title and that’s mostly because the division was absolutely on fire at the time.
