PA GOLDEN GLOVES FINALIST THINKING OF GOING PRO

Post by boxingchamp262 »

I was just eliminated by a very very controversial decision in the Pennsylvania Golden GLoves at 165lbs.I'm 21 and have 5 amateur bouts and I competed with the BIG GUys. (I'm only 5'7). I'm tired of this politics stuff. Should I consider going pro now or wait til next years Golden GLoves and try to go open class?

We wish you all the luck, but if your sick of politics, why go pro?

If you've only had 5 bouts and have only boxed in the Golden Gloves, why don't you get more experience by participating in local shows and other advancing tournaments, i.e., the US Championships (starts at the local level); you can pay your own way to the PAL and Ringside tournaments. It would not be a good idea to turn pro after 5 bouts. You need as much experience as you can get and there are other opportunities than Golden Gloves.
