Re: Liam cameron 4 year ban
Why should these banned dudes not be able to even train or train others? I imagine for a lot of them that is either/or a source of income or a boost to their mental and physical health. I get the not fighting from the perspective of the banner, but seems like you could have that in place while still letting them do some things that would help them carry on during the ban.
Though im sure it's not the hardest thing to sneak in some training etc

There must be more to this story ? A four year ban for a bit of sniff ?
Re: Liam cameron 4 year ban
UKAD has a tendency to be lenient with big names and harsh on lesser known athletes, not sure why but I suspect money (or lack there of) may have something to do with it.Black Sam Bellamy wrote: ↑17 Jul 2020, 16:37 There must be more to this story ? A four year ban for a bit of sniff ?

it's certainly a theory to at least begin withkeirw wrote: ↑17 Jul 2020, 19:00UKAD has a tendency to be lenient with big names and harsh on lesser known athletes, not sure why but I suspect money (or lack there of) may have something to do with it.Black Sam Bellamy wrote: ↑17 Jul 2020, 16:37 There must be more to this story ? Re: Liam cameron 4 year ban
Two journeyman flat jockeys tested positive last year and got six months each. Kind of challenges the theory that those at the top get treated differently. So I'm wondering again if there isn't something more here ?
Re: Liam cameron 4 year ban
What a sickening double standard. Petition signed, and best of luck. Reach out to as many publications as you can: boxing magazines, your local paper, Private Eye - the latter is a very powerful periodical which likes nothing more than to expose corruption and hypocrisy and have discussed UKAD in the past, and I am sure they'd be interested in your story - contact the media, let them know your story, make a fuss!

You may be right.Black Sam Bellamy wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 17:48 Two journeyman flat jockeys tested positive last year and got six months each. Kind of challenges the theory that those at the top get treated differently. So I'm wondering again if there isn't something more here ?
I don't follow horse racing so I have little idea what a flat journeyman really is, although I could guess.
All I know is that big names generally tend to get off lighter than lesser known names, from what I see.
The only big names I can remember serving any kind of lengthy UKAD ban are Dwayne Chambers (a long time ago now and I can't remember all the details) and Tyson Fury (a complicated case that has been heavily discussed/argued on this site and many others).
I can't think of any well known name off the top of my head who has received more than a 6 month ban, yet it seems every other week I read about an obscure name getting a mammoth ban.
I'm sure that there are exceptions, but not enough to elleviate my suspicions.
