I was kinda wondering if having both titles on the line is being done as a way to make it easier to go foward if there are weight issues....still weightlight title on the line baby!

Yeah, we're talking about a guy who didn't make 135 on the first try last fight.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 08:41I was kinda wondering if having both titles on the line is being done as a way to make it easier to go foward if there are weight issues....still weightlight title on the line baby!

It's for both 130 and 135 titles so I'm pretty sure the contract details on that is sketchy. Cruz is gonna come in at 129 and Davis will be at 134 while giving Cruz a sum of money and win both titles.

Yeh, something will probably happen.. even if it ends up being the one belt on the line.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 10:18It's for both 130 and 135 titles so I'm pretty sure the contract details on that is sketchy. Would LSC be the worst five division champion in boxing history?
Considering there is only around 5 of them..
Probably..
Hearns, Leonard, De La Hoya, Pacquiao, and Mayweather.

Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz - October 24, 2020
LSC is the poster child for meaningless belt collection:
At 118 he won a vacant title against a nobody (Vusi Malinga) and his best title defense was against a version of Eric Morel about 10 years and 2 weight classes past his prime.
At 122 he won a belt against an extremely weak champ (Victor Terrazas) and 3 of his 4 title defenses were against cans.
At 126 he had a real, legit title run where he was actually the #1 guy in the division.
At 130 he won another joke vacant title against a scrub and he hasn't defended it yet.
So he can call himself a "4-division champ" but in reality he was only ever the legit champion at 1 weight.

What? You can't win a 130lb title at 134 lbs. Even boxing has never crossed that bridge.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 10:18It's for both 130 and 135 titles so I'm pretty sure the contract details on that is sketchy. When your boy Floyd is involved, no bridge is off limits to be crossed.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 15:28What? You can't win a 130lb title at 134 lbs. Even boxing has never crossed that bridge.

It's possible he held more than 1 belt at some point, but really he only has 3 top level wins, 2 of which are against Mares, and I'm not even sure 2018 Mares should count since he was definitely on the decline at that point.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 15:52Yeh. IBF Bantamweight
WBC Super Bantamweight
WBA ‘super’ Featherweight
WBA ‘super’ Super Featherweight
He only held the WBC diamond belt alongside the Featherweight.
Never unified. Closest he came was against Gary Russell.

Can’t win both titles if your over 130. That’s why the fights at 130. But I do think he will shift to 135 and just be his “title” (not a real belt) on the line.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 10:18It's for both 130 and 135 titles so I'm pretty sure the contract details on that is sketchy. Good match up.
Big question is will Tank make the weight, if he comes in over then the added weight advantage is sure to help him.
Leo Santa Cruz is no pushover, if he's well prepared he certainly has it in him to win the fight.

Teofimo Lopez and Rolando Romero clown ‘pregnant’ Gervonta Davis
During this Instagram live conversation between Teofimo Lopez and Rolando Romero, both fighters had a lot of laughs at the expense of Gervonta “Tank” Davis, whom they think might be expecting within the next nine months.
“I ain’t gonna lie, though, he looked like he was 160, 170 when he was fighting with Ivan (Redkach),” Lopez said.
“He looks like the Pillsbury dough boy,” Romero added in.
“He look mad heavy, yo. He don’t look like he could make this weight no more. I swear,” Lopez responded.
“Dude, he got pregnant.” Romero said before they both fell out in laughter.
“Yo Tank, if you watching this, why you so fuckin’ fat, bro?” Lopez asked. “Why you get so fuckin’ fat? Like, I know food is life and shit but you don’t gotta get that fuckin’ fat, you know what I mean?
“Tank won’t make the weight for the Leo Santa Cruz fight. I bet you my world title,” Lopez threw in for good measure.
“You gotta hand it to Tank, bro,” Romero added. “To be a midget with a secondary fuckin’ education from the second most dangerous city in the world, being mentally fuckin’ r******d — to achieve something in his life and to be a fat midget achieving something in his life, that’s pretty impressive.”

Re: Gervonta Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz - October 24, 2020
How will Gervonta make weight ?
Will he have a clause in the contract that says for every pound he's over he will pay 100k or something ?
On a multi million $ contract what's a 100k here and there ?

The main article says there is a clause. He will be giving up money if he’s overweight. Just didn’t say how much.

Kind of a big point isn't it ?
Wasn't it Mayweather v Marquez where Floyd gave up big $ per pound and outweighed him significantly when it went off ?
Will Gervonta be one of those fighters ?
