Think this one goes early I doubt Joyce wants a long one.
Is JJ then gonna lose weight and come in lean around his usual 250-255?

I'm at the stage when any live boxing on the TV will do so looking forward to tomorrow's show. It would be funny if Wallish did throw a spanner in the works and ruin the DD fight

Then Pfeifer beats Dubois.

Joyce distributed a career heaviest 272 pounds across his 6’6” frame during Friday’s official weigh-in. Wallisch weighed 267 pounds - also a career-high - for his third career fight outside of his native Germany.

Joyce has averaged over 260 for his last 5 fights (not including this one). joyce is just a big boy, probably needs to try hang high 250s, but an extra few pounds wont kill him, he is probably the strongest heavy in the division and has good stamina, its not nice to watch but if i were joyce id be clinching and leaning on everyone till there tired enough to get clipped by slow joe.

Sounds like the homer simpson tactics of boxing. Wait until the opponent is tired and then nudge him over!

The crowd administer a cheering to this spectacle as Joyce proceeds to close in and usher an end to this stanza, delivering an authoritarian right bolo punch and commanding respect from his respective trainsmen.

Not surprised in the least about him coming in heavy.
Would think most heavyweights wouldn't have had the strictest of diet and training routines during the cv19 epidemic.

Nice shoutout to boxrec from Dempsey 👍

This feels bizarre so far, with the MC addressing the home audience directly.

They should pipe in crowd noise like football?

I’ve also noticed so far that the static camera seems to be zoomed further out?

I think Dubois wins both. I've got a hunch that Dubois has too much ring craft for the slightly bigger Joyce and takes him down although you never really know until you see them in against each other. :box:

‘Looking at the boxrec rankings, which are very respected in the industry, there are four British heavyweights in the top ten’ or something to the tune

Louie Lynn looks good in winning but he hit the guys when he was on the floor twice in 2 knockdowns. Horse would not approve.

'Orse would not approve of pretty much everything James. :D

Good prospect Lynn, my guess he wins a Euro Title but no further.

Not sure the MC’s ‘ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the ring’ really works in this format, given that there is little way of gauging how vocally encouraging the home audience is being to the fighters

What’s Michael Buffer gonna say?

“For the 2 people in the studio and the millions watching around the world.”

They should give about 20 tickets away free to boxrec's loudest, most excitable fans (I'd have a great chance of making that cut :yay: )
Let them shout themselves silly from a suitably safe distance.
No fans is rubbish for all sports.

Whatever happened to all this stuff I read about post Covid boxing being all about competitive fights? It was supposed to mean the end of exactly the type of fight we are watching here (ie prospect versus journeyman).
