Matchroom to stream Rungvisai-Ruenroeng from Thailand on Aug. 1st

Matchroom Boxing will live stream the return of Thailand star Srisaket Sor Rungvisai a/k/a Wisaksil Wangek on Saturday, August 1st, ahead of its Fight Camp broadcast. The former WBC 115-pound champion returns against former IBF 112-pound champion Amnat Ruenroeng, also from Thailand. The ten-round contest will go out across Matchroom’s YouTube channel. Rungvisai, the former WBC 115-pound champion, boasts two impressive victories over Roman Gonzalez in recent years, plus two close fights against Juan Francisco Estrada which went one apiece. Ruenroeng, a former IBF World Champion looks to make it three wins on the bounce and put his name firmly back into title contention.

Promoter Eddie Hearn said: “As if August 1st couldn’t get any bigger with the launch of Matchroom Fight Camp, the return of former WBC super flyweight champion Rungvisai against former IBF 112-pound ruler Ruenroeng will now be shown live on the Matchroom YouTube channel. cIt’s a great little warm-up at 8.45 in the morning [British time] for what will be a very exciting day for the world of boxing. Next Saturday is all about the return of boxing. Fight fans will get a chance to watch a pound-for-pound star in Rungvisai before enjoying the opening night of Fight Camp. Juan Francisco Estrada [Rungvisai's conqueror] will fight Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez next, we’re in the process of trying to make that fight, probably for October time in America. The winner of that fight will face Sor Rungvisai providing he gets through on the 1st. It’s a great little run of fights for those three and the division itself. We’re so lucky to represent those three great fighters.”

I'll post the stream for you guys on the morning.. It may not work for US viewers, i'm not sure..

If it's not showing on DAZN, then I don't see why not.

I haven't seen Ruenroeng for a few years now, was a capable boxer back in the day but by the looks of things is finished at top level, Rungvisai not been the most active either, coming off that bizarre showing in the Estrada rematch, still no idea why he fought orthodox, he basically gave the title away

All Thai fight though, looking forward to seeing Rungvisai again, I'm a big fan even after what he done to my man Gonzalez

Workpoint Facebook will likely have a working international stream, in Thai
Workpoint MIGHT have it on their youtube too

Chainoi Worawut on the undercard is regarded (along with Phoobadin, Oscar Mastertoddygm and Simsri) as one of the Thai prospects to keep an eye on

Ruenroeng is 40 years old and hasn't done anything in years. If SSR is anything close to his old self he should get him out of there pretty easily.

I had it 96-95 Rungvisai, they scores looked wide to me, no way did Ruenroeng only win a round, I wouldn't have argued with him even winning or the draw, it was a fight of 2 halves, I gave Ruenroeng 4 of the first 5 rounds, his countering was class and picked him up a handy lead on my card, Rungvisai ploughed forward but was slow and was walking onto left hook counters and lead rights, Ruenroeng would spin off and start again, even when Rungvisai threw punches he was being parried and partially blocked

I noticed Ruenroeng tell his corner his left arm was hurt and then when Rungvisai got cut in the eyelid after the headclash in the 3rd I thought it might not go the 10 rounds, Rungvisai began to make inroads in the 6th and that's when he clawed things back for me, he was now starting to put that pressure on that we'd seen before and Ruenroeng began to look 40, it wasn't vintage Rungvisai even when upping the tempo and banging the combinations to the body, I'm not sure he looks like he has much left himself, he's lost that ferocity, still he got the win

Wangek absolutely stinks and is dining out on a lucky shot vs Roman, this guy should be nowhere near a p4p list.

Yeh, he’s not all that is he?

The first Roman fight was controversial.

And the second he may have knocked him out yes, but tbh, Roman started his career at minimum weight and even struggled with Cuadras at super fly.

WTF? A fight where you win 2 of the first 3 rounds and then brutalize and stop your opponent in the 4th is not "a lucky shot" by any stretch of the imagination.

Rungvisai was lucky in getting a close decision against Chocolatito the first time but the 2nd fight was thoroughly decisive. And Rungvisai looked great beating Estrada in their first fight, too. The guy might be 33 and on the decline not but you guys have lost the plot.

Rungvisai would be a real good challenger for Ioka, IMO.

Well he also beat Estrada too. And we saw last fight that Roman is still very good at the weight. It's hard to say a guy who beat Roman twice and then Estrada just got lucky

Sor's good for sure but an old guy for that weight and also had been inactive. Not a p4p quality fighter these days and prob quite beatable.
