Do You Remember American Flyweight Scotty Olson?
Does anyone remember this exciting flyweight? He was a staple of USA Network Tuesday Night Fights back in the early 90s decade.

Did the Canadian Scotty Olson have an American brother?
Re: Do You Remember American Flyweight Scotty Olson?
Aye, a hard man. He fought Wayne in the Olympics.
Re: Do You Remember American Flyweight Scotty Olson?
Thought he was a Canadian lad as well.
We got some of his fights here in the UK.....fairly late night on ITV, usually proper bash-ups as well

I remember watching his fights on espn top rank boxing...in the early 90s...boy I loved watching that weekly show...they had many good fighters and fights...al Bernstein , Dave bontempo and Barry Tompkins at the helm.. you would tune in and while it was delayed you didn't know the results or even what fights were on. Those were the days!!!This is where I remember Scotty Olson...from very early in his career. I remember he fought on Tuesday night fights once I believe on the undercard of Foreman vs Lakusta ...tough guy.

Sorry, I thought that he was American. But, anyway, he was pretty good with them fists.

"The Bulldog" is a former door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman from Edmonton, Alberta, who in 1989 drove 1,200 miles to Las Vegas with his amateur highlight tape and hung around Top Rank headquarters until he finally got an audience with Bruce Trampler. Trampler was impressed enough to show the tape to Bob Arum, who immediately signed Olson and
moved the 1988 Canadian Olympian to Sin City to launch his pro career. A relentless, two-fisted banger, Olson compiled a record of 34-4-2 with 25 KOs from 1990-2002, but was plagued by hand injuries. He won a decision over Roger Espanola for the vacant IBO world flyweight title in 1994, but was stopped in 10 rounds by Michael Carbajal for the IBA belt three years later. In 2015, at age 47, Olson came close to dying after suffering a massive heart attack at his home. His wife performed CPR until the ambulance arrived and he was placed in a medically-induced coma, after which two stents were put into his heart. Olson was fully recovered two weeks later and briefly returned to his job selling cars at a local Ford dealership before quitting to spend more time with his family. Enormously popular with Canadian fight fans, the six-time national amateur champion remains active in the sport as a trainer and adviser to up-and-coming pros in his home city.

Yes. The Toy Bulldog as he was known. He was a house ESPN fighter back in the early 1990s. I remember him well. Tough as nails.

Was he on ESPN or USA a lot? USA used to have a lot of lower-level fights as well. Usually an promising prospect against a no-hoper. Anyway, he fought a lot on TV. Fun to watch.
Re: Do You Remember American Flyweight Scotty Olson?
Sorry for the error. Do remember him on ESPN several times though. Glad he has made a full recovery.
