I actually think that was exactly the kind of performance that could get Arthur the win over Yarde. I understand what you lot mean about him not pushing the stoppage but that sort of movement and jabbing would be good against a stocky lad over 12.

Decent enough card, almost certain tonight will be better, see youse then.

Arthur has a good solid jab, he'll have plenty of success with that against Yarde. I'm not sure so sure about his left hand being so low though.

Anyone who thinks Arthur has a chance vs Yarde needs their heads looking at. He's garbage.

Lyndon Arthur would be solid stepping stone for Joshua Buatsi or Anthony Yarde comeback fight :box:

Not much love for Arthur on here. Threw quality jab, beautiful hooks to
Body, some lovely hooks up the middle , selection shot was great. Defended great on iropes an countered lovely. Great use of the often underused defensive block ...... all about opinions. Spellman very tough man. Very durable. Touch one paced an at upper level you need the extra . Just my opinion .

I’ve seen a fair bit of Lyndon Arthur but he always gives me the impression there’s another couple of gears and much more in the tank.
He’s got a good skill set and can bang but all too often appears to be going through the motions .
I’ve always thought he was over protected by match making and last night’s opponent was the type he should have had two years ago.
I’d have liked to have seen him get rid of Spelman last night in the mid rounds but he just didn’t seem to care and settled for a comfortable easy points victory.

I won’t be writing off his chances against Yarde because he too was also well protected with hand picked opponents before jumping in at the deep end . Yarde avoided a plethora of domestic opposition to somehow get his shot a Kovalev . I reckon he could bring out the best from Arthur who imo has gears to move Up into.

You’ve done a better job of explaining my earlier sentiments. It’s not foregone in any way.

When we're talking about fights vs Yarde and Buatsi beating crude and very limited Dec Spelmans and rando Africans like 8-4 really aint that impressive no matter how you do it, doubt the other 2 lose a round to those guys. surprised people think he was class. to me it was flat. think Yarde and Buatsi would beat him handily. Don't really see the quality about him to carry on the outboxings if he steps up to guys like that

Plus lots and lots of guys just never step up the gears, tempting to say he'll do it based on the opposition but he's never shown it
