Cheap and not really a tough fight I understand. Don't like one bit.

I saw Jason Quigley at the Forum on the Bernard Hopkins finale fight and the dude hits HARD...but he got his ass handed to him 3 fights ago by a 36 year old. Canelo would take him out in 3 rounds or less.

Politely, I've never heard of him but if an offer was made...surely Quigley would accept. Heaps of exposure, a world title opp and probably better money then he's ever made - money needed in these corona virus times....

I read about this, Canelo still apparently has a bunch of other options he's considering, it's not like they are waiting on Quigley getting back to them and will fight him if Quig says yes (which is what some ppl spin it into), they probably send out all sorts of things just to see what options they have for what they are willing to offer each guy

quigles has already said yes but they are still looking for an opponent, im betting it wont be him

Just had a look at a news article and I believe you are correct Ms Thatcher. Sounds like it's an offer to be shortlisted to fight Canelo or something like that.

Quigley is an ideal cheap substitute that can be on standby in case the real September 12th opponent withdraws at the last minute due to injury or any other reason.

A bit like when Matchroom had Carlos Takam on stand by when Kubrat Pulev withdrew from the AJ bout.

Or when GBP had Gary O'Sullivan on stand by in case GGG had withdrawn from one of the Canelo fights.

I honestly don't expect GBP or DAZN to sign off on Quigley being the first choice candidate for Canelo's September 12th fight, but then again, we're only 57 days away from that date, which is eight weeks.

Time is clearly running out and anything is better than nothing.

All the other big-name fighters that compete from 160lbs to 175lbs are going to demand an impressive payday and also a full training camp in order to agree to face Canelo, so who knows what will happen? :-?

The fight might not have any live gate receipt revenue and most boxers wouldn’t have been able to train properly throughout lockdown.

Fiht with Tureano Johnson would be very bad. Fight with guy who lost to Tureano Johnson is pure trash, even for a covid circumstances. This is even worse than Anthony DIrrell IMO

Can we just hold off on potential Canelo opponent rumors now until somebody is official. He's been rumored to be fighting at least 15 guys at this point.

I'm surprised they haven't fed him Lemieux already, I'd assume that's the whole reason they've had Dave signed

They float names to get reactions. It is our duty to shot all over this

Quigley is worse than Rocky Fielding, so it would be really dreadfully awful from a competitive perspective, I really doubt it happens though anyway

DAZN would have to approve the Opponent, Eddie Hearn said they would not approve Quigley or Tureano Johnson, Hearn said they have Approved C. Smith, D. Andrade, Bivol and John Ryder. I hope it is Bivol, D. Andrade, C. Smith, Ryder IN THAT ORDER, but it will probably be C. Smith or Ryder.

The problem here is that whilst holed up in his exclusive testing lab undergoing radiation gene therapy and various chemical enhancements the news of the Coronavirus has not yet filtered through all the numerous bureaucratic layers to one Saul Alvarez.

His terrified minions dare not tell him for fear of upsetting his delicate equilibrium. No one, not even Oscar or DAZN dare to even suggest that his holines -the pugilistic pope, might have to consider the ultimate of financial blasphemies - a pay cut.

It was bad enough dealing with that disrespectful russian bandit Golovkin and his scheming no- good Yankee promoter.

No way Jose!

Wu-flu (whatever that is) be damned!
