How many people would predict that Terence Crawford’s opponent for his mid-November bout is going to be significantly inferior than Danny Garcia?

Gotta love boxing! :TU:
He’s clearly a popular fighter in terms of commercial value and both his loses were competitive. In my assessment he’s top five in the division and worthy of the shot.

If it's somehow Pacquiao, it won't be. That's a decent if though.

If it's Crawford/Pac that would be glorious but I'll believe it when I see it.

If TR has to go outside PBC for Crawford's next opponent they literally have no options superior to Garcia, unless maybe they bring up one of the elites from 140. But I'm also fairly certain they won't put a fight against an inferior opponent on PPV.

I like the post car crash Spence vs Garcia matchup, although even a 80% Spence should have too much versatility and speed for the flatfooted, counter punching Garcia. Early rounds a bit even before Spence begins to assert himself, wins by 4-6 rounds.

Danny is a recognizable name who’s willing to fight with no or little fans in attendance. I respect that. I’m not convinced he can carry more than a couple rounds if Spence is in prime form post-car-accident. It would be tragic to see Spence so affected by his car accident that he doesn’t win this one easily. Danny is 32 and barely active. He can’t possible have the speed to hang with Errol.

To be fair to Garcia on his record, I thought he should’ve won against Porter. Actively screaming at the Tv on that one. Can’t blame him for slowing down once he got a spot on TV.

By their own admission, Top Rank hasn't even contacted Team Pacquiao about Crawford's mid-November fight-date.

So it's safe to assume Crawford won't be fighting Pacquiao next.

How many years has Bob Arum been using Pacquiao's name to keep Crawford in the media spotlight? He's been doing it since 2014, I believe.

And do you honestly think it'll happen this November, especially when Top Rank has already confirmed they haven't even submitted an offer to the Filipino?

So basically, it’s his own decision not to fight Crawford? He’s cleared that up.

Its always both sides decision. Both could chose to have the fight next (once crowds are back i guess) if they realy wanted, and were willing to slice a bit off there end.. Its just everyone wants to sign a deal thats as good as they think they can get. Crawford made the decission to sign with toprank when they have no welters, It got him good money for some easy fights, but put him in this shiit spot for bargining.

craw could send a 90-10 offer in spences favour, and he would get the fight the second are crowds are back... But he thinks he is in a position to ask for more (he is). just like spence probably isnt going to send a 50-50 offer when he knows he (PBC) has all the cards and crawford needs him..

This is a tough fight for Spence, not knowing how he will be affected post crash. Crawford said he was ok with not fighting Spence his first fight back, because he wouldn't get full credit if he won. Danny Garcia is a tough fight for anyone at 147, but I do expect Spence to win, but very much doubt a KO.

Danny Garcia: This Spence Fight, I Feel Like My Career Is Where I Want It To Be

Danny Garcia and Errol Spence don’t agree on much heading into their highly anticipated welterweight title fight later this year.

The pair of elite boxers share common ground in the belief that their November 21 showdown—which tops a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View event—will be one to remember. Beyond that, also comes a similar viewpoint—if not from two different perspectives—as to Garcia’s run ever since moving up in weight.

Spence (26-0, 21KOs) will attempt the fifth defense of at least one welterweight title dating back to his 11th round stoppage of Kell Brook in May 2017. The bout will be his first as a unified champion, a status the 30-year old southpaw from Desoto, Texas achieved in a 12-round split decision win over Shawn Porter in their Fight of the Year contender last September in Los Angeles.

Porter represents one of the two losses on the ledger of Garcia (36-2, 21KOs), both of which came on the welterweight title stage. The Philadelphia native dropped a 12-round decision to Porter in their vacant title fight in September 2018, challenging for the very WBC belt he conceded in a split-decision defeat to Keith Thurman in March 2017.

“At 140 (pounds), I’m not gonna lie, he was doing his thing,” Spence conceded to Fox Sports’ Brian Kenny in a joint interview with Garcia, though the statement coming with a disclaimer. “At 147, he’s fallen short.”

The claim wasn’t completely challenged.

There was a time when Garcia was considered among the very best fighters in the world, that status perhaps hitting its peak in a convincing decision win over Lucas Matthysse in September 2013. The win came as part of a seven-fight stretch where Garcia fought and beat all former or current titlists beginning with a ten-round decision win over Nate Campbell in April 2011.

Garcia won two 140-pound titles in back-to-back fights, outpointing Erik Morales in March 2012 before scoring a far more emphatic win in stopping the legendary four-division titlist in their rematch later that October. Wedged in between came a 4th round knockout of Amir Khan in their July 2012 unification bout.

“I’ve faced the hardest hitters and my chin has stood up to the test,” insists Garcia. “I fought the best and I beat them because I was better than them.”

That hasn’t always been the case at 147, where—even including a non-title fight win over Lamont Peterson at a 143-pound catchweight when both were 140-pound titlists in April 2015—Garcia is 7-2, with none of his performances suggesting the same level of superiority he enjoyed as the junior welterweight king.

“I will say a lot of that is because I was [too] comfortable with where I was at in life,” admits Garcia, who has won two straight including a 10-round nod over Ivan Redkach this past January. “I was already a two-division champ. I didn’t get up as much as I should have for those fights, as far as that grit and wanting it more.

“This fight, I feel like this is it. I’m seasoned now. I’ve been in a lot of tough fights. I feel good. I feel like my career is where I want it to be and I feel better than ever.”

Wow, so he has had a mayjor car crash and hasnt sparred in a year and is fighting Danny Garcia in < 2 months.. If ever there was a time for a tune up or 2 this is it, but instead goes in with a top 10 guy. As much as i commend the attitude, Its not how id wanna play it if i was his manager..

If his first day sparing is today, is there a chance this fight gets cancelled if the next few of weeks sparring dont go as well as he planned?

Spence vs. Garcia Moves To December 5, AT&T Stadium in Arlington

Another big Pay-Per-View event is on the move and for the sake of allowing fans in attendance.

The anticipated unified welterweight title fight between Errol Spence and Danny Garcia has been pushed back two weeks from its originally intended date, now taking place December 5 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas—home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. The bout will top a show to air live on Fox Sports Pay-Per-View.

Tickets will be made available to the general public, marking at least the second such occasion for a Premier Boxing Champions event since the pandemic.

"Having my comeback fight be in front of my hometown fans at AT&T Stadium is added motivation and a dream come true," said Spence. "It means even more because I'm going up against a great champion in Danny Garcia. I know people are looking out to see if I've lost a step or won't be at my best, but I'm 100% focused and everything is on point in training camp. I just can't wait to go out there on December 5 and put on a show."

The bout was targeted to land on November 21, although a venue was never confirmed for the forthcoming showdown. PBC has run its events through two locations since returning in August—Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut for content airing live on Showtime; and Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for all Fox Sports events.

That trend has changed beginning with the upcoming Showtime PPV headliner between Gervonta Davis and Leo Santa Cruz. Their bout was moved back one week, from October 24 to October 31 and which will take place at The Alamodome in San Antonio, with tickets already on sale—the first such occasion for any bout to air on U.S. since the sport as a whole returned to stateside airwaves on June 9.

Spence’s unified title defense versus former two-division champ Garcia will now mark the first Fox Sports event to take place outside of Los Angeles and with fans on site. PBC has aired four shows on Fox in primetime and two separate FS1 shows all from the Microsoft Theater.

Spence (26-0, 21KOs) will attempt the fifth defense of at least one welterweight title since winning his first belt in May 2017. The event will also mark his first fight as a unified titlist—having done so in a 12-round split decision win over Shawn Porter to add the WBC strap to his IBF title reign—and also the first since recovering from serious injuries sustained in a horrific single car crash last October.

Garcia (36-2, 21KOs)—a former 140-pound lineal champion and 147-pound titlist—has won two straight since dropping a competitive 12-round decision to Porter in their September 2018 vacant WBC title fight. Most recently, Garcia scored a wide points win over Ivan Redkach this past January in Brooklyn, New York.

"I'm very excited to get back in the ring," said Garcia. "This is going to be my second fight of 2020, even though it's been a crazy year with the pandemic and everything. I'm glad we're finally getting back to where we were and that we'll be able to bring this fight to the fans. This matchup is a mega-fight unification bout. It's my opportunity to reclaim my spot at the top in this division and become a five-time world champion. Training and sparring has been going really well. I'm extremely prepared for this already and it can't get here soon enough. Come December 5, I will be crowned unified champion!"

The event will serve as Spence’s second headliner at the famed stadium in the greater Dallas area. The unbeaten southpaw from nearby Desoto, Texas made his PPV debut at the venue last March, scoring a 12-round shutout over former four-division titlist Mikey Garcia. The event played to an announced crowd of 47.525 and selling north of 350,000 PPV buys.

"What an exciting event to look forward to as we welcome yet another championship fight to AT&T Stadium," said Dallas Cowboys Owner, President and General Manager Jerry Jones. "We are honored to once again partner with TGB Promotions and Premier Boxing Champions and provide a top flight boxing match between Errol Spence Jr. and Danny Garcia on December 5."

A similarly sized crowd is not expected due to current social distancing guidelines, but the spread-out stadium—which can seat (and stand) more than 100,000 for non-football events during healthier times—can still potentially draw in the vicinity of 20,000-25,000 fans given current standards. Current home games for the Cowboys allow the venue to sell at up to 25% capacity.

UNDERCARD

In addition to confirmation of the date change came the official announcement for the full undercard.

Unbeaten junior middleweight contender Sebastian Fundora (15-0-1, 10KOs) will face former title challenger Jorge Cota (30-4, 27KOs) in a scheduled 12-round title eliminator. The winner be among the many waiting in line for a shot at lineal junior middleweight king Jermell Charlo.

Former two-division title challenger Josesito Lopez (37-8, 20KOs) will square off with Francisco 'Chia' Santana (25-8-1, 12KOs) in a 10-round welterweight battle.

Former 122-pound titlist Julio Ceja (32-4-1, 28KOs) of Tlalnepantla, Mexico will face countryman Eduardo Ramirez (23-2-3, 10KOs) in a featherweight title eliminator. Their scheduled 12-round bout will open the Fox Sports PPV event.

Undercard Press Release

Unified welterweight world champion Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr. will duel two-division world champion Danny "Swift" Garcia in the blockbuster main event of a FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View Saturday, December 5 with fans in attendance at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The pay-per-view begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT and features unbeaten super welterweight sensation Sebastian "The Towering Inferno" Fundora taking on Jorge Cota in a WBC Super Welterweight Title Eliminator in the co-main event. The lineup will also see all-action contenders Josesito "The Riverside Rocky" Lopez and Francisco "Chia" Santana squaring-off in a 10-round welterweight affair, plus former champion Julio Ceja faces featherweight contender Eduardo Ramirez in a WBC Featherweight Title Eliminator to kick off the pay-per-view.

Tickets for the live event, which is promoted by TGB Promotions, Man Down Promotions and DSG Promotions, are on sale Wednesday, October 14 at 10 a.m. CT, and can be purchased at SeatGeek.com, the Official Ticketing Provider of AT&T Stadium. Spence vs. Garcia was originally scheduled for November 21.

AT&T Stadium, which has hosted NFL fans during the 2020 Dallas Cowboys season, will be following guidelines from the CDC with protocols regarding COVID-19 safeguards and cleaning procedures. All fans attending the event will be required to wear a mask. Tickets will be distributed in seat blocks known as "pods" to maintain distance between groups who are not known to one another. For more information on AT&T Stadium's Safe Stadium Policy, please visit the site here: https://attstadium.com/safestadium/.

The hometown hero Spence will return to fight at AT&T Stadium after putting on a masterful performance in front of an enormous crowd at the Dallas Cowboys' home last March, when he dominated four-division champion Mikey Garcia on his way to a unanimous decision victory. Possessing dangerous one-punch knockout power, two-division champion Danny Garcia was an indomitable force in the 140-pound division and has been equally powerful at welterweight, winning the WBC title in 2016. He will be looking to regain his 147-pound world title against Spence.
