Someone further up asked why lose money on these shows why not just not do them. There’s obviously more to it than the money lost or made on these shows. If the fighters didn’t get these fights under their belt their careers stagnate so there’s some money that may come back next year as a result of the fights they have here.
Frank always says he will fight for home advantage make a loss on the title winning show if it means he can make good money back on the title defence shows.
Froch v Groves 2 made everyone a fortune. It wouldn’t have happened if Bute hadn’t been paid way over the odds to come to Nottingham a few years before that.
